$1,000

skirt: marshalls (similar)  top: jcpenny  necklace: ebay

Don't you wish I was talking about a $1,000 giveaway?
Me too.

Instead I'm asking you this:
Want to know a fun way to spend $1,000?

Don't buy a refrigerator.

Because it is not fun.

What I would have rather spent my money on:

Buying many many more statement necklaces.

A long weekend away in Lake Geneva.

A shopping spree, purchasing these items and many more.

Many sushi dinners:

Plane tickets to visit my favorite little boy and girl.

Sometimes being an adult and owning a house is a bummer.

On a more exciting note I'm doing a giveaway on Much Love Illy's blog.  Check it out!

  3. Oh I'm sorry Katie! It's always something with a house, huh? Our sprinkler system has given us lots of trouble lately and we hate sinking so much money into it :(.

Great outfit as usual!! Still want that bubble necklace!

  4. Awwww, I hate stupid expenses! We had to replace something with our furnace and it was super expensive! I always think of all the ways I'd rather spend that money!

  5. We don't own our home here but the one we rent did not have a fridge. So yeah, we spent that on a fridge 2 years ago.
I don't like being an adult.

  6. Being grown up sucks! We have a $500 car deductible to pay and as much as I love my baby, diapers are no fun to piss away money on... no pun intended ;) ok maybe..

  7. Cute outfit! Similar to what I did with my maxi dress! Makes me feel fashionable : )

  8. you look fab! and yes, being an adult is TOTES a bummer sometimes. like spending $1,000 in car repairs. WORST.

  9. I don't blame you. :(

Do you get told a jillion times that your husband looks like Duff from Ace of Cakes?

  10. Boo, that sounds like zero fun to me. But you look fabulous, as usual!!!

  11. I have to agree.. MUCH better ways to spend 1,000! Well, more fun anywho.

  12. aw man, that's not a fun way to spend $1,000! Being a home owner can suck, but it's way better than being in an apartment! The hubs and I are currently on the house search :) LOVE the color of your bubble necklace. It's perfect with the pink stripes!

  13. We had out fridge go out a couple of months ago. Couldn't live out of a cooler forever,(I tried!) so we gave in and bought a new one. Bummed because we almost had our lowes cars paid off!

  14. Ha, I've been married too long...I would kill for the new stainless frig with the extra drawer! LOL

  15. I have not seen those pictures of Travis and Lena. What other ones am I missing? I'd rather spend money on a fridge than the dentist or furnace. At least you can see what you bought.

  16. I couldn't agree more on your choices of buys over the refrigerator. I LOVE your bubble necklace!

  17. I can imagine exactly how you feel! That's how I feel, but mostly about car repairs, because we don't own anything else besides our cars, yet. The sad part of being grown up is truly spending huge chunks of money on stuff you wish you didn't have to bother with in the first place.

  18. Ughh...I HATE having to spend money on useful/house stuff, haha :) At least your food will be stylin'? Love the stripes & maxi Katie - so cute!

  21. Oh no! Sorry to hear you had to replace your fridge. My parents recently had to as well and my dad was complaining about how it was the quickest $1000 he'd ever spent. On the upside, you own a home! :D

I love that mint necklace, you pair colors so well.

  22. Oh dear! I hope this doesn't mean you can't go to sushi dinners :-(

  34. I hate when that happens. ;) While we were in seminary we got a random check in the mail for a couple of hundred dollars as a gift. We were thrilled cause seminary equals broke. Then the next day my tire blew in my car and we had just enough to replace them. (God provides, but being a grown up still sucks sometimes.) ;)
On a happier note, I love your bright stripes and pretty maxi! So cute! ;) And at least you get to enjoy a new fridge, right?

  35. Is it weird that my first thought was that I would get a treadmill? Even though that's not fun either, but I've really wanted one forever? Endless sushi would be a good substitute too ... ;o)

  36. Oh bless you- fridge purchases dipping into clothing/statement necklace purchases is NEVER fun! Hope you get to feeling better, too!
