New goals
Chris goes back to work tomorrow and to say I am sad and nervous would be an understatement. He has been so great and I have cried multiple times at the thought of him not being here all day. He's mostly played with Addilyn, taken her places and cleaned up around the house, so that I could sit as much as possible and hold and take care of Isaac. Addi has been so sweet to Isaac, but is definitely struggling adjusting to being a big sister. I am not surprised, but it is hard for me!
Here are my goals for the rest of the week:
Hold Isaac while Addilyn naps and watch tv or nap myself.
Tell Addi I love her multiple times a day.
Brush my teeth every day.
Stop worrying about what our days and new routine will look like. To be okay knowing that we won't have one for awhile and to take it one day at a time.
Pretty simple, right? Ahhh. I'm nervous.
everything will be fine dear, calm down.
ReplyDeleteI was so nervous my first day alone too, you can do it! Once I started to get comfortable with both I think I actually do a better job now of making sure I spend quality time with Grant while Hannah is sleeping.
ReplyDeleteYou've got this, momma!!! If someone has to cry for a bit while you help the other, everyone will be just fine. Just make sure you have a stash of chocolate somewhere :) !!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Ashley- she's always told me when I become a mom to make sure I have chocolate handy!! ;) I'm no expert, but you seem to have this momma thing DOWN! You've got this. I feel like its totally normal for the 1st child to have a hard time adjusting, but you know she loves that sweet baby brother of hers! Things will be just fine :)
ReplyDeleteThinking of you!! You'll do great and I love that your goals are realistic and practical. Take it one day at a time or one hour at a time and you'll do just fine. It'll take a while to figure out your new normal and your kids are lucky to have such a sweet mama.
ReplyDeleteLol brush your teeth :) you got this!
ReplyDeleteI don't know you personally but I defiantly know what it is like to be a momma. 27 years & counting. Contact me ANY time honey. I've been there!!!!'
ReplyDeleteRachel & Josh will be 27 this Sunday!! 3/13/1989!! They were 10 weeks premature!!
I was so nervous when I was solo for the first time and remember those feelings well! Best of luck! I know you are going to do just fine!
ReplyDeleteSmall, attainable goals is the way to go. (and honestly, my first couple weeks home alone with 2 kids the teeth brushing didn't even get done every day!! Chuck would get home and I'd say "Here's the baby, I'm going to brush my teeth!")
ReplyDeleteJust.... Be.... That's enough
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you did great yesterday! I love that you set realistic goals!
ReplyDeleteGood luck, you will do great!
