Freshly Picked - My babies first shoes

freshly picked mocs
moccasins: c/o Freshly Picked

We've been long time fans of Freshly Picked moccasins and I was so excited to get a new pair for Isaac.  They were pretty much the only shoes he wore as a newborn and now that he is starting to walk, I knew he needed a new pair that fit him.  I made these white ones last as long as possible!

Now Addi has always had little feet, but she managed to only go through two pairs of Freshly Picked moccasins from six months till about age two.  The quality is amazing, they are soft and comfortable, and they stretch to fit your babes feet.  They last forever!  If they weren't pink, I'm sure Isaac would be wearing them, as they are still in good shape. I'm glad the next pair she wore was grey, because Isaac will definitely be wearing those!

They were a great first pair of real shoes for Addi as they were so easy to put on, stayed on her feet and allowed her to wear them as she learned to walk all over!  In the last few weeks Isaac is slowly becoming more confident in his walking and taking more and more steps.  I'm sure in a few weeks he will be walking everywhere.  I was so excited when these arrived because I know we will get so much wear out of them as he begins running all around!   I LOVE the forest green color!

Thank you so much Freshly Picked!  We LOVE LOVE your mocassins and your company. Make sure to follow Freshly Picked on instagram and make sure to check out my post tomorrow on instagram (@katiejvale) as I get to give away a pair of mocs!

Happy Birthday Isaac!

My sweet boy turns one tomorrow and I can't believe it's been a whole year since he's joined our family.  He is the sweetest thing and the perfect addition to our family.  My heart could not love him more and I am so thankful God gave him to us.  What a blessing it is to be his mama!

Isaac Jordan you are a reminder that God can do anything, and that life is so good.  Finding out I was pregnant, getting to share our news, my labor and delivery with you . . . was all so redeeming and I am still thanking God for the way he gave you to us and how you entered our family.  You are so happy and sweet, cuddly and easily amused. You already know how to make others feel loved and could not be cuter.  You make us so happy and I could not feel luckier that I get to be your mama. Happy happy birthday sweet boy!  You are the best and I can't wait to celebrate you this week.

(I can not watch this without crying.  What I would give to relive those first moments of meeting him for the first time!)

Germs, germs go away!!

This is my current view right now.  A very sick Addi.  I am so over being sick and having to cancel plans!  We had such a great weekend that ended in Isaac and I throwing up all night Sunday, and last night Chris and Addilyn got it.  Last week I was at the doctor with Isaac because he had a high fever for days, and had a very few healthy days before getting sick again. We just had the stomach flu in January.  Come on Spring, we are so very ready for healthy days!

Sickness aside, we really did have such a nice weekend.  The weather was amazing and we spent so much time outside.  Parks, walks, and hanging out in our yard.  We celebrated my niece's third birthday and spent most of her party outside.  In February!  It was wonderful.

Isaac turns one on Monday and then we have his party that weekend.  I have much to do to get ready for his party and am just praying we can all stay healthy before that.  I can not imagine having to reschedule or cancel his party. All the prayers that we get over this quickly and have some long stretches of health!

FIVE

tee: c/o shein   jeans: old navy  shoes: target

1.  I love this top and the criss cross in the front.  Plus it was only $10!  Don't mind the wrinkles. I don't even know if I've seen our iron since we moved six months ago.

2.  I got these shoes at Target a few weeks ago for under $7.  I thought they were kind of old manish, but now love them and want to wear them everyday.

3.  Isaac has been sick this last week, has three teeth about to come through, is about to walk and is talking a bunch more.  Sleep has been rough this week and I am so tired.  We went to the doctor just to hear virus and teething.  Wish I would've spent my $20 on something else.

4.  Chris brought home a balloon, huge cookie and flowers for Addilyn on Valentine's Day and she was so excited and it was so sweet.  Way to go Chris!

5.  It is supposed to be 60 degrees this weekend and I am so happy about.  I know we are probably far from actual spring weather, but I am so ready to be able to be outside.

Hope you have a great weekend!!

Weekend Randoms . . . . .

top: c/o shein  vest: shein    jeans: old navy

Sometimes I forget about things like vests.  I didn't love how this shirt fit on it's own, but love it with a vest.  May be the only advantage to colder weather these days.  I am so ready for Spring!

I wore this to go to church but we never even made it there.  On the way there Isaac was crying so hard he started coughing then threw up all of himself and his carseat.  We turned around and went home, realized he had a fever and put him down for a nap.  I'm not sure if it's just teething or if he has some kind of virus too, but he has been quite miserable.  We are both exhausted!

Saturday Chris took Addi for a "daddy daughter day."  They took the train downtown, had breakfast then took the train back and went to Addi's first movie.  She had so much fun.  I may have been a little jealous I didn't get to do those things with her, but I was glad they had some sweet time together!

We've been getting a lot of stuff done around our house lately.  Curtains hung in our bedroom, I painted our bathroom and redid our pantry, and Chris built a buffet table.   I am super proud of him and can't wait to get it in our dining room.  I feel a little nervous that I'll mess it up staining/painting it, and am not quite sure how I want to do it.  But I can't wait for it to be finished!

I worked on a few more things for Isaac's birthday party and am so excited to celebrate him and can't believe it's so close to his birthday!

I can't stop eating candy hearts.  I need help.  Or perhaps just need to stop buying candy.

I started doing some beachbody on demand workouts and did two TurboJam workouts this weekend and they were so much fun!  I was super sweaty and am really sore today and I actually love both of those feelings and miss working out.  I'm excited to get back into a routine.

Hope you all had a good weekend!!

Addi says what

Image Map

While playing Little Red Riding Hood with Chris she said, " I'll eat you up, but I'll leave your face so you can still love me."

When Chris was out of town she was talking to him on the phone and said "I don't even remember what you look like but I still love you."

I told Addi and Isaac they were sweet and she said, "Yea we're such sweet little children."

Addi told me she wanted to stay up till 10:00 and I told her that was way too late and she said, "Listen to me woman!!"

After a trip to Target with just me, that ended with her wanting every single thing she saw and me saying no over and over, she was quite crabby.  Chris asked what we did and she said "Walked around buying stupid stuff," shrugged her shoulders and walked away.

The next morning Isaac was laughing at her and she was crabby and said "Stop looking at me with your stupid face."  (Needless to say, we had a conversation about the word stupid after this)

We put a big girl bed in Addi's room, but she doesn't want to sleep in it.  After a week or so I asked her when she thought she'd want to sleep in her big girl bed and she said, "Maybe when I'm four. Or I'll just sleep in my crib until I die."

She wanted to play TriBond with Chris (a very much adult level game) so they got it out and he started asking her the questions.  "This is so embarrassing.  I don't know the answers.  Let's put it away."

At bedtime to Chris, "Today is your last day to be alive.  Tomorrow you're going to be dead. You're going to be smashed flat."

11 months

Dear Isaac -

Less than a month until you turn ONE! I can't believe it is almost your birthday.  We are planning your party and I can't wait to celebrate with our families.  The party it definitely more for us than you, but I know you will love your cake.  You've already had a few tastes of sugar and I think you may have the same problem as your mama and sister - you loved it!

Not a whole lot has changed this month.  I'm pretty sure you are the same weight and height, which is nice that you aren't outgrowing your clothes too fast!  Your favorite foods are still yogurt, cheese and fruit, which I just read your sisters 11 month update and I wrote the same thing.  Your sleep is about the same  - still not great at night, but thankfully your naps have been a little more predictable.  You usually nap between 9 and 9:30 and again close to 2.  On a good day you sleep around an hour or so for both.  I am so very ready for you to sleep better at night!

The things that make you the happiest are Addi, Molly, going outside, pretending to drive my car, being tossed in the air, and of course your mama.  It's fun to watch your likes and dislikes come through. You definitely know what you want.  You have certain toys that when Addi takes or is playing with and you can't have, you get so sad.  Your sad face may just be the most pathetic thing in the world.  I don't know how i'm going to say no to you!

You are getting very good at standing on your own.  When you figured out you could stand and look side to side you were so excitement. It was quite funny to watch.  You also took six steps at the end of this month!  You got so excited, you tried to do it again, but kept flailing your arms from excitement that you kept failing over.  You haven't done it yet, but I'm sure once you figure it out, you'll be moving quickly!  I can't imagine your tiny little body walking around.

I've been working on a video of your first year and can't watch your birth videos or newborn pictures without crying.  I can't believe it's been almost a year, but also can not imagine life without you.  You have been such a gift to our family and could not be a happier boy. We can't wait to celebrate you as a one year old in less than a month!  You are so loved Isaac!

Love,

your mama

Currently . . . . .

Loving my new mug from Rosalynn Love.  I got it during one of their big sales and I love it.

Over Winter.  The other day the sun was shining and I forgot what that looked like.  I texted my friend to look outside quick and she texted me back ten minutes later and it was already gone and did not come back.  Hurry up Spring.

Love this top from PinkBlush.  I want all of their clothes and love that they have free shipping. I think this top was $12 when I bought it.  It's so comfy and perfect with leggings too.

I'm over wearing boots despite it being 20 degrees today.  Bring on sneakers, slip ons and floral tops. Here's some other tops I love:

one //  two
three // four

Getting ready for Isaac's first birthday party! We're doing a lumberjack theme and I found the cutest little outfit on Groopdealz and can't wait for it to come in the mail.  I have a few things I'm going to make that I need to get started on!

Loving that shows are back on this last week.  Grey's Anatomy, the Fosters and of course still the Bachelor.  None of which Chris likes, so give me your show suggestions for us! (He actually usually watches the Bachelor with me but would never admit it.)

Not believing that Addi will be four this summer.  I signed her up for the four year old preschool class for next year and can't believe she is so old.  And will be in school three mornings a week next year.

Ready for the weekend!  Happy Friday!
