Rain, rain, you can stay

sweater: c/o shein
Excuse the wrinkles but I certainly can't iron a sweatshirt that goes with leggings and meant to wear on a cozy Fall day.  They will eventually iron themselves out after I wear it, right?  We've had a few rainy cold days this week and I wasn't at all disappointed because wearing comfy clothes and feeling justified to let my kids watch extra tv and myself drink more coffee was completely welcomed.  Now come January when it's freezing and we can't go outside, I'll think differently, but for now rain and cold are welcome!

Finally

top: shein (only $11)  pants: jcpenney   shoes: target

We've had such a warmer October, but it finally feels like Fall.  And I am so happy about it.  Bring on all the long sleeves, sweaters, vests and boots.  I just got this top and it's the perfect Fall color and so cozy.  The top is super loose, so you definitely need a tank under it, and I love the back with a bralette. Now we just need a fire in our fireplace, and perhaps switch out to leggings of course.

These jeans are so comfy and I waited for a $10 coupon, plus they were on sale so I got them for under $20.  They are the jegging kind, so stretchy but look like regular jeans.

Also do people read blogs anymore? Especially ones with outfit posts? Or does everyone just use instagram?  Sometimes I think I should just post there if I have an outfit to share and not do my blog anymore?  Help??

FIve for Friday

ONE.  Chris and I went on a date last weekend and it was great!  We got coffee and then walked around a few stores.  It's amazing what three hours alone can do.  I found this sweater at TJMaxx for $12 and I love it.

TWO.  Here's some other fun sweaters that I love:

one //  two
three  //  four

THREE.  I feel like so many people have posted pictures of their kids with these masks on.  The panda or the unicorn.  But they crack me up.  Especially Isaac's tiny little body with this huge panda head.

FOUR.  We painted Addilyn's pumpkin and it was so fun and easy.  I think we'll do this every year. I took her to Michael's and she picked out these stickers and was so proud.

FIVE. We're going away with Chris' family this weekend and it'll be nice to have a whole weekend together.

Hope you enjoy your weekend!

Fall with Mint

Remember my post sharing my love for the most comfortable, amazing dresses in the world? My friend Kelley, is the creator behind Mint Standard Clothing and I am so proud of her.  If you missed my post proclaiming my love for her and her clothing read it here! I shared two ways I styled the original in black over the summer.

The awesome thing about this dress, besides the huge pockets, and that it feels like yoga pants, is that you can wear it all year round.  I recently got the original in navy stripes and am ready to wear it styled for Fall, now that we're finally getting some cooler weather.

It took me forever to find a denim vest that I loved (Target, of course).  And somehow I always forget how much I love it, and forget that I could've been wearing it all summer long!  I'll have to make up for it this Fall. These dresses look so cute with vests, and the layers and booties make it perfect for Fall.

This gigantic blanket scarf was a $5 ebay purchase a few years ago and I love that I can wear it with stripes.  I've finally think I'm confident with pattern mixing, so hopefully that stays trendy for awhile, right?  I think this dress is the perfect length to wear with taller boots, even with it gets really cold, because there isn't much skin that shows!

This is another Target vest find from when I was pregnant with Isaac.  It's super light weight and I love how it looks over this dress.  I am sure there are a million more ways to style this dress for Fall and Winter. Scarves, necklaces, different boots, a jean jacket . . . . . I am sure you could wear this dress once a week and make a different outfit every time!

Make sure to follow Kelley on instagram (@mint_standard) to keep up to date with new items coming to their shop and check out all her amazing dresses at Mintstandardclothing.com.  You will love Kelley if you don't already and LOVE her dresses!

Fake plants - yes or no?

I think I used to think fake plants were old lady-ish and definitely not appealing for my house. But I either was looking at the wrong fake plants, or styles have changed, because I love them now and want my house filled with them.  Because I certainly can't keep real things alive.  I actually kept this succulent plant thing alive for four months and I was incredibly proud of that, but that's the only success on my list.  So fake plants it is.   I've found a handful that I love, and I feel like look real and have made my space happier!

I think the greenery brightens up the space and it makes me happy, which should be the highest criteria in decorating your home right?  I recently got these two little olive trees and they're currently in our bedroom.

We haven't done a ton in this room since we moved and I have lots of ideas, but thanks to time and money we'll have to wait a little while.  I kind of want to get rid of this big mirror and move the sign that's above our bed over the dresser.  Because moving things you already own doesn't cost money, right?  I think it would look cute between the two plants, and I already have a standing mirror so do not really need it!

I want another plant in here like the one in the first picture.  Maybe inside the basket like my other plant?

Do you have any fake plants in your house? Where do you find them?
