Recent confessions

necklace: ebay ($1)  shorts: old navy  sandals: target

I wore this to a friends house and one of my guy friends was basically wearing the same outfit.  His shorts thankfully were longer and he didn't have a somewhat gaudy owl necklace, but it still made me question my outfit choice.

About a third of the time I throw Addi's clothes in the laundry it's because I've spilled food on them from eating while holding her.  One time I dropped a piece of lettuce right in her mouth.  Don't worry I got it out.

Sometimes I wish overalls were still stylish.  They were just so darn comfortable.  And I'm not talking about the skimpy weird overalls that I have seen on pinterest.  I'm talking the baggy, extremely unflattering overalls like the picture above.

and you don't need to tell me that they probably weren't ever really stylish.

I still wish that I needed to wear glasses. I think they are cute and would make me look smarter. I am still afraid of trying to pull of the fake glasses look, but I want some glasses like these so I can copy looks like this:

This Carter's commercial made me cry.  and reminds me how incredibly lucky I am to have my baby girl.

I kind of locked Addilyn in the car with the keys the other day.  And by kind of I mean I did.  It makes me feel better by saying kind of since it was only for twenty seconds.  I had a mini heart attack and then Chris told me he had another set of keys in the house (we were in the drive way).  I proceeded to cry imagining if I had done that while out somewhere.  Seriously still feeling bad about it and practically afraid to ever shut my car doors.  And slightly regret sharing this as I feel like a terrible mom fail.

Hope everyone has a great long week!

  1. Hey, kinda locking her in the car for 20 seconds could have been a LOT worse! Please don't feel like a bad mom, we all make our fair share of mistakes and yours seems so minor, especially since it was so easily and quickly corrected. I have made mistakes with my children that I don't care to admit, lol! You are a good mom :)

  2. Haha this is too cute! You are NOT a terrible mom - it's called being a human! I love reading about your life as a new mom :)

  3. I think every mom has accidently locked the kiddo in the car at some point. My kids have locked me out on one or 2 occasions. Now I always roll down a window if I am putting them in the car before me that way even if the doors lock I still can get in. Even if it sets off the alarm.

I like the outfit. Cute and simple.

  4. Oh I can see why you freaked out but I'm sure every mom has a slew of "oh, oh" moments so don't beat yourself up! Also, I tried eating waffles w/ Bryce in the sling a few weeks ago and proceeded to drop maple syrup all over him, so much for that good idea!

  5. 1. I love the owl necklace. I feel cool when I wear mine 2. You look adorable and stylish and not at all like a boy 3. Overalls WERE cool. Kelly wore them on Saved by the Bell and DJ wore them on Full House. 4. That commercial made me cry. I am sending my baby to preschool tomorrow and that was too much! 5. All mom's have those moments. Give yourself some grace!

  8. The outfit is adorable!! I love it :) I'm sure overalls will make their debu(sp?) again sooner or later! Ha :) as for the car thing... I'm sure you're not the only one that has happened too but I would feel the same way were it to happen to me. You're a great mama and baby girl is blessed to have you!

  9. My friend locked her kids in the car at the mall. She freaked out! Scary stuff. I can't ever lock my keys in the car b/c if they are in the car I can click a button on my door and it will open - great feature!

Those overalls are too funny. I never had a pair but I remember when they were popular.

  10. I've had a couple of worst mom moments, one involved me putting Grant in the car as an infant and forgetting to buckle him on. I didn't realize it until we got home. That. Was. Awful. Thanks God we didn't have an accident!

  11. Things like that happen to the best of us! A nurse when I had my second baby told me that motherhood is all about feeling guilty. I feel guilty for many things I do as a mom; things I didn't mean to do and things I chose to do to prove a point to my daughters. :S

Don't beat yourself up for it. I bet that you're a good mom, that's why you feel guilty!

  12. Gah I snorted when I read the sentence about your dropping lettuce into her mouth. Hah! So loud, in fact, that Wade had to come over and read what was so funny. He laughed too. Love it.

  14. I kind of locked us out of our house. And by kind of I mean I totally did. My husband was at work (a good hour away), our neighbors who have our spare key were gone. There I was with my six month old strapped in the snuggli not sure what we were going to do (aka I was freaking out). I literally broke into my own home. Yikes!!!

  23. haha! in middle school I used to wear fake glasses! I was such a weirdo. maybe i still am...!

  24. Love your outfit. It's cute and love owl necklace, which reminds me I put mine somewhere and now I want to wear it! You give me inspiration when putting outfits together, as I am no good at it.

I have to laugh about dropping lettuce in Addilyn's mouth. I will be looking forward to doing the same very soon. I am always telling Nate how he can't take me out anywhere...I tend to get more food on me and everything else than in my mouth...lol

Also don't be so hard on yourself. From what I see your a GREAT mom. Addilyn is so lucky to have you as her mom!!!

  25. Love the camo shorts! And that just shows your guy friend has good fashion taste ;) Oh the overall days...I had many many pair...the best.

  26. Honestly, I can't imagine wanting to need glasses because most of the time I choose not being able to see all that well over actually wearing my glasses! :P
I've had days when I run into a guy who looks like he's wearing a very similar outfit to mine. And it's very good news that his shorts were longer....I'm so glad that the days of men wearing short shorts are over!

  27. I've always wished I had glasses! In middle school I totally wore a fake pair a few times and thought I was so cool. And I totally rocked those unflattering overalls. I think I might have even worn a pair in my early college days, which is even scarier. Ha.

  28. The boy I babysit's Dad locked himself and son in the car (in my driveway) one time. Know that great childproof lock in the backseat? Yeah, well, it's a great parent lock too, apparently. He got back there to get his son out, shut the door bc it was cold, and was stuck. He was too big to climb into the front! Eventually I looked out and saw them sitting there and he motioned frantically for me to come and save them. haha!!!

  31. Oh my gosh that must have been so scary for you! Good thing you had an extra set of keys!

  32. I have glasses, but I don't want to wear them because they make my nose break out. It's the darndest thing, and since I only need them sometimes, I rarely wear them, haha.
