Sometimes, I wish I was funnier. Sometimes when I read some other funny blog posts first I laugh and then I feel a little jealous at their sense of humor.
Overall I was pretty shy growing up and didn't care too much to be the center of attention, until one time in high school I decided that I wanted to start being funny. And I tried. I think I tried pretty hard. Which is a little pathetic. Even more pathetic that I wasn't even successful.
Occasionally I get a little proud of a post that I think is pretty funny, like this one, but then I read the "funny" post a few days later and wonder if anyone besides my sister Lauren is laughing. But I guess since she is the one who I started this blog for, I should consider her laughter to be a success.
I feel the same way. I'm envious of people's humor.. sometimes I think about trying on my blog but I don't want to push it & I don't want it to seem un-natural. I feel ya girl. by the way.. cute shirt!
ReplyDeleteI think you are one of the funniest people in the world. And I am so honored to know that my laughter is (almost) enough for you"
ReplyDeleteGreat look - love your top!! You definitely have some funny posts! Don't get too concerned with being funny... it comes through naturally!
ReplyDeleteAwesome look.
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way. I read others' posts, and I'm like, "Why can't I be funny like that?" and when I try, I feel like I'm trying too hard. Haha. Oh well. :) We are who we are, right?
ReplyDeleteI often think I'm funny too but usually Wade is the only one who laughs! I often feel the need to add a "haha" or wink emoticon so people know I'm making a joke ;) see what I did there?
ReplyDeleteI have a much harder time trying to write anything serious or inspiring than I do when I'm writing a spoof or just doing a little tongue-in-cheek wordplay. Different types of writing seem to come more naturally to different people.
ReplyDeleteGirrrrrrrrrrlllll...you're more like Oprah.. inspirational.. which is good for a blog.. we need the wisdom...
ReplyDeleteHaha! I've kind of had the opposite problem most of my life... I'd try to be soooo verrrrry serious, and people laughed. So I've kind of given in to it, I guess, and inject humor into serious stuff when it's appropriate. And sometimes when it isn't. Because I'm awkward like that ;-) Humor... tricky stuff!!
ReplyDeleteI feel like it's one thing to be funny in person and then a completely different thing to be funny through writing. I think it's pretty hard to be funny when writing.
ReplyDeleteIf this makes you feel any better...I started following your blog the very first day I read it, because I thought you were that awesome!
I love that top!
ReplyDeleteI totally wish I were funnier. Some of my friends are hilarious, and I know I'm not even close to their level of funny. *sigh*
i TOTALLY feel the same way! i wish i had a more humorous way of writing, but i don't!! oh well. :(

Love this top!!! and sometimes I wish I could be funny in my blog posts but it always seems forced. oh well.

I feel like people find things I say in person much more funny than when I type them out. However, I read that post and laughed. A lot of bloggers that people find hilarious seem to me like they try way too hard. You don't come off that way at all!
ReplyDeleteI am just impressed that you are showered and dressed cute every day so soon after your baby arrived!! Way to go girl!!! Susan
ReplyDeletehaha i love this! and you are so beautiful AND funny!! i laugh at your posts!! (not in a bad way... in a good way!)
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way sometimes when I'm reading other people's posts. I definitely try to be funny too but I don't know if it always comes across!

You should consider it a success! Also, I think you're funny!
ReplyDeletei always say that i could be a stand up comedian if the audience were just my friends and family!! i'm ok with that!
ReplyDeletewow! I feel exactly the same, infact it was a reason why I held off starting a blog

i wish i was more stylish!! the grass is always greener!
ReplyDeleteHaha. I feel that way too! I read the posts/statements I make that I think are hilarious and I realize that others probably think they're just dumb. ;-)
ReplyDeleteTotally feel you! If only I were clever and witty...although I think you are!! :)
ReplyDeleteI totally feel you! I shared a post once on making homemade taffy, which was by far the worst idea ever and I thought it was one of my most hilarious post but people commenting were more focused on the recipe than the dumbness of the whole idea! I was like hmmm....maybe I wasn't that funny. BTW I think you have a good sense of humor.
ReplyDeleteI always get self conscious and wonder if my sense of humor comes through ok in my writing..heck, I get self conscious about my writing in general haha.. But you get me giggling girly...like the dog poop comment from your post the other day..I thought it was hilarious!
ReplyDeleteThat outfit looks so comfortable!!
