Things I'm bad at

top: old navy   pants: loft   sandals: target   necklace: c/o choies.com

Taking pictures anywhere besides my deck.  I have a hard time fitting in outfit pictures as is.

Sleeping.  Unfortunately I am a high maintenance sleeper and need it to be dark and quiet with a fan to sleep well.  I was a poor sleeper long before Addilyn so trying to take advantage of the breaks between night time feedings doesn't always work so well for me.

Spelling words like maintenance without spell check.  You can also add supposed and physical to that list.

Avoiding mosquitoes bites.  My family used to have me lie down in the middle of the room when there were mosquitoes in the house because they would fly right to me.  Of course the idea was to kill them before they did but it kind of sounds a little abusive when I think about it now.

Talking in front of a group of adults without getting red faced and nervous.  Talking in front of eight years old I'm a pro at, but in front of their parents not so much.

Not being annoyed.  Chewing loudly, tapping, snoring.  You name it.  It annoys me.  And that is the only thing that annoys Chris.  My many annoyances.

Caring about and talking about politics.  While I feel a little ignorant in this area I honestly don't care all that much.

Singing.  The first time I sang Addilyn a song when she was a baby she started crying.  It certainly did not help my self esteem in this area one bit.  Thankfully I think she's gotten used to my poor voice.

Using the proper tense of run and ran.  It's a good thing my mom always emails me to correct me when I use it the wrong way on my blog.  Although slightly annoying, I appreciate it mom.

Following through at mailing letters.  I have great intentions to send letters, thank yous and once in awhile packages.  And I write them. Even address them.  But getting them stamped and sent out is somehow an issue.  My birth announcements are sitting on my counter.  Addressed and stampless.

  3. So about 10 minutes ago, I was headed outside to take pictures on my deck. And then I saw my neighbor out there, and completely panicked and took pictures inside. Because my own backyard isn't even safe! Somehow I am now more comfortable in the parking lot of my gym with random strangers driving by!

  4. Spelling is really hard for me too, especially "suppose." I've been feeling frustrated with taking outfit pictures lately, no Bueno. Your deck ones always look nice.

  5. Haha! I have trouble taking pictures anywhere inside! I totally have the same problem talking in front of parents. I get sooo nervous and my heart races, but my students I can even act silly in front of or say anything and they don't care. I love it. I have trouble sleeping too. Lights have to be off, no TV, and a fan needs to be on. Ha! :) Love your hair up it looks really cute. Your outfit looks comfy and stylish :)

  6. Wonderful post! Found you through Faith over at Life Love & Marriage. Hmm - I share you sentiments on politics. For some reason, I am not as passionate as I should be/everyone else is.

Another thing I'm bad at - patience. I can't wait for anything...or at least I'm the worst waiter in the world.

  7. Did our parents really do that to you? It does sound pretty sketchy... This post made me laugh. You are good at being funny!

  11. I have always been a good sleeper. But, other than that, I think we are the same person :) Cute outfit...and I think your deck is a beautiful place for photos!

  12. I am a great sleeper! I think Jordan's in trouble for when we have kids... I'll never hear them crying! haha.

  13. OMG I can relate so much with this. Especially with the mailing part. I got ready, wrote and enveloped all my Christmas cards and didn't send any. What a waste. I also am not one to discuss politics, I take my photos in the same 2-4 spots and there are some words I always have to spell check.

I love how you always look pulled together just with a simple tee.

And I am now all caught up with your blog. =)

  15. Oh man, I'm bad at mailing things too! In fact, I have a baby gift for you sitting here still needing to be sent!

  16. I have a terrible time correctly using swam and swum!

  17. Ok, this is the mom here. We did not do that to you regarding the mosquitoes! We said we SHOULD because it would've been effective, but that was said in a sympathetic manner. And I always ask you if my corrections annoy you and you assure me you want me to do it. AND, most importantly, this post made me laugh out loud! You are funny!

  18. I am the exact same why about sending out letters and thank yous. It was over a month before I got my graduation thank yous in the mail- and most of the time they sat on my desk stamped and addressed, I was just too lazy to put them in the mail. It's a miracle any family member has gotten me anything since. I'm trying to be better about my baby shower thank yous, but it's been a week and a half and i'm only half way done!!!

  19. I JUST wrote a post about taking outfit pictures in the same place everyday, and I even mentioned you! What a coincidence haha :)
I think my blood must be sweet or something because mosquitos love me. Bug spray doesn't do ANYTHING for me. Good thing I live in CA!

  21. I am a really light sleeper so if there's any noises outside, I always wake up.

You should definitely mail the announcements...they're too cute not to be shared!

  26. I'm horrible at sending out letters too! I always have great intentions of sending them out right away but it takes me forever to address them and then actually mail them. Our birth announcements are half addressed, half ready to go and they've been like that for three weeks now!!!

  27. I like your casual look. When I'm sleeping from my night shift, I have the shades down, the air on, ear plugs in my ears and an eye pillow on. It's the only way I can sleep in the day time.

  28. I love the idea of written correspondence but it has so far gotten no further than just an idea.

And I used to lead group discussions everyday in a front of group of 10-15 mental health clients in my old job. While I was nervous when I first started, it became easier. BUT when one of my coworkers walked in all those nerves would come racing back!

    Cheers,
