dress: forever 21 jacket: target boots: dsw scarf: made by my sister-in-law
The other day I spent multiple hours baking some holiday goodies with my friend Rebecca. Our house was filled with a large amount of desserts to which I was thoroughly enjoying a little too much.
Chris on the other hand, apparently not so much. After dinner the next night he sat down on the couch with a handful of Oreos. I asked him why he would be eating Oreos when there are three delicious homemade desserts to choose from, to which he told me he'd rather have Oreos.
He could not understand why I would be offended until I told him that would be like him spending a few hours making this fancy, real dinner (like he did that night) and me looking at it and taking out a box of macaroni to eat instead because I "like the taste better."
Often I fail at analogies when I'm trying to prove a point but this one he understood. While he did apologize I told him I am never making desserts again and am just going to buy him a $3 box of Oreos instead.
Except we all know that isn't true because I really bake so I can eat them all myself.
Sounds like my husband! But all the more for you, right? ;)
ReplyDeleteHaha your last sentence made me laugh. I think your analogy was perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love to bake but my husband recently lost 60 pounds so he is really particular about what he eats. I've been baking deprived, but it's better than having them go to waste. Other times I Just deliver them to friends :)
ReplyDeleteHow rude! Ha! At least he realized what he said was wrong. Your analogy was spot on. P.S. I will happily eat any desserts you want to send my way!
ReplyDeleteI agree with the post above I'll happily take any desserts ;)
ReplyDeleteCute outfit!

Men... M told me tonight that he doesn't really live my Grandmas chocolate chip cookies! I was really offended! I also told him that I better it find him eatting them. Glad to know I'm not the only sensitive one about my baking!
ReplyDeleteAck! Husbands! I just baked some delicious oatmeal cookies, but B said he prefers boxed cookies. Oh well, more for me then ;)!
ReplyDeleteI love red and white stripes. Your post just reminded me that I should wear my red and white stripe dress again soon.
ReplyDeleteVery cute outfit! And my husband does the same thing(: Blessings! susan
ReplyDeleteThat all being said, it'd be nice if I didn't have to hide desserts from Scott. He got into my stash of Christmas cookies last week.
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit and that scarf!!! Your sister in law did a great job.
ReplyDeleteCute post...You have a sweet husband to apologize. My husband is not a big fan of deserts, which means more for me :)
Haha! My husband would probably eat all the desserts AND the oreos :)

This is so my husband! He loves Oreos! I adore your outfit.
ReplyDeleteThis would drive me bonkers as well! And I think the mac & cheese analogy is perfect.
ReplyDeleteOh men...how they don't think what they say can be offensive sometimes until you take a half an hour to explain it to them...then they feel bad..and that's the real reward haha ;)
ReplyDeletehaha! this sounds like a conversation between michael and i, he does the same thing!
ReplyDeleteMen!! haha love the outfit!
ReplyDeleteThis happens with us all of the time! I will make muffins, cookies, and other scrumptious treats-and Daniel won't touch them. Drives me bonkers because then there are way too many left for me!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great analogy. You show him and never make him desserts again... (Ok, don't do that, that wouldn't make a healthy marriage) ;-) But seriously, that's a bummer. I'm glad he understood what bothered you about it.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great analogy. Love your outfit!

I will take your baked goodies over oreos any day! At least he understood where you were coming from. And you look adorable in that dress!

I would totally be offended too! Who would choose oreos over fresh baked cookies?!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely, keep baking! You could always send some to me if you have extras!! :)
ReplyDeletehaha love this. I looooovvvee to bake...my husband says i bake and then have one tiny little piece and he is "forced" to finish the rest b/c he doesn't like to waste food.lol.
ReplyDeleteSilly men. I'm convinced they just don't understand sweets. Homemade cookies are the best!
ReplyDeleteAlso, cute look!

Oh dear! I totally would've been offended too, haha! I'm glad you caught on to your analogy though! :)
ReplyDeleteSuper cute dress... I'd hate to offend as well, but Oreo's are really good! Especially double stuff! I'm not one for fancy treats either! I'd rather have a handful of skittles! :) BUUUUt your dress is super cute! :)
