Is it only Wednesday?

lace shirt: forever 21   blazer: maurices   pants & shoes: target

I'm having a hard time believing that it is only Wednesday night.  This week is moving by SO slowly.  It could be because it's been days of indoor recess, which makes for some super squirrely and loud kids.  Or because I've been excitedly and a little anxiously awaiting our 16 week dr. appointment this week.  After going to the doctor weekly from week 5 to 10, this whole waiting 4 weeks in between appointments has been rough!

But thankfully, in case you're having a long week too, I have something exciting to help you make it to Friday.  I'm excited to introduce you to a sweet blogger named Fannie, who blogs at Living Life in Pink.  One of my favorite things about her is that she is a ballet teacher for 3 - 5 year olds.  That pretty much tops the list of cutest and sweetest jobs ever.  Plus she's giving away a $25 giftcard to Sephora to one of you lucky ladies!

hello lovely readers of for lauren and lauren!! i'm so excited to be guest posting with you all today (and thanks so much katie for this amazing opportunity--you're the best girlie!).

well, my name is fannie and i blog over at my little pinkalicious corner called living life in pink. i'm a student and ballet dancer living in baton rouge, louisiana, and i teach 3,4, and 5 year old kiddies at the baton rouge ballet theatre. my blog is a lifestyle blog, where i live my life in..."pink".

for me, pink isn't simply a beautiful color....it's a beautiful way of living life....living it happily, lovingly, elegantly, honestly, sassy and silly, open-minded, and with passion; and on my blog i hope to share these simple ways of living with all of my fellow readers!

along with living life in my definition of "pink", you will also find lots and lots of funny stories, fun and silly pictures, romance, and some yummy recipes (lots of sweets!). so i hope you stop by sometime, i would so love getting to know you and your blog!!

one more little thing: i LOVE bright colored lipsticks, especially sephora brand types. so...i'm giving away a $25 sephora giftcard!! i hope you enjoy it!!:)

Thanks for a great give away Fannie!  Make sure to go tell her hi!

Dress your Age

shirt: forever 21  jeans: kohls  shoes: target

It never fails that every time we have a parent event at school I get some comment about looking too young to teach.  As the years have gone by, they have become fewer, but there is always at least one.

At open house last week one of my students' grandpas came up to me and asked me how long I've been doing this.  When I told him 5 years he replied,

"What, did you start when you were 12?"

Why, yes I did.  Isn't it amazing they let 12 year olds teach 9 year olds these days?

After telling him I started after I graduated college he then began a long string of odd questions like,

So is that your desk over there?

Do you sit there all day?

Do the kids really sit in desks like this?

Do they sit there all day?

Needless to say it was a long, very awkward conversation.

Now it just makes me laugh, whereas it used to make me feel self conscious,
but as people always tell me, I know I will appreciate it someday.

Random facts

shirt: forever 21  pants: Old Navy  shoes: Kohls

I'm at a loss of what to write about today, so . . .

Are you ready for some completely random facts?

In high school I wore sweatpants or soccer shorts about 5 days a week.  Now I think I am just making up for lost time.

I love almost all reality TV shoes, but survivor is my favorite.

I set two alarms every day I have to work because I'm afraid I won't wake up, even though I've never overslept.

I love Ben Stiller and any movie he is - I'd marry him if I wasn't married to Chris.

My toenails will be forever changed because of three marathons - but it was worth it!

I want to be a back up dancer for a rapper.

One of my life goals is to be on the Price is Right.

I hate the word "reimburse" and the phrase "it's all relative."

Chris is the only boy I've ever held hands with.

I want to be one of the Fanta girls in the commercials, but I can't sing and am not tall with skinny legs.

I'd rather spend money on clothes than food any day.

I use to say I wanted three weddings when I was younger (all to the same person) just to get married again.  And I kind of still do.

I want to work in an orphanage at some point in my life and I'd like it to be in Jamaica.

definitely random

Happy Tuesday!
