Six Things

There are six things you need to know about this outfit:

1. This dress was purchased in the little girls' section at Target and was under $4.

2. I've written about these shoes before and how they were $3 and that Chris thinks they are ugly.

3. My sister in law made me this scarf for Christmas and I LOVE it.  She is definitely talented.

4. I bought this flower ring at Old Navy last week and it makes me happy.

5. I wanted to wear my favorite grey tights with this outfit but ripped a whole in them with my nails when I was putting them on.

6. Speaking of nails, if you look closely my nails are nicely painted which is a very rare occasion.

Hope you are having a good week!  After not working for almost 7 weeks I am very ready for the weekend already!

High Five for Friday

dress: Eshaki   shoes: gap  necklace: ebay  jean jacket: old navy

1.   I won this dress from eshaski from a giveaway on my good friend Alison's blog.
This is the first time I've wore it and I have to say I that I LOVE that it has pockets, but I don't love the length.  I feel like dresses this length make me look short.
I'm trying to figure out other ways to wear it.  Especially in the cooler weather!
Suggestions?

2.  We have been taking advantage of the start of Fall with some delicious Fall foods.
Like grilled sandwiches, chili and caramel apple cake.

3.  As the weather gets cooler, I'm excited about getting out some of my Fall shoes.  I can easily spend a good amount of time browsing through womens shoes online looking for ones I want.  I see bloggers wearing cute Fall wedges all the time, and I want to copy!
Here's a pair I wouldn't mind owning:

                                                                    wedges shoes

4. Let's just start this number by saying how much I love the show Parks and Recreation.
And am so happy it started last week.
Ann was wearing this owl print shirt  in the episode and I want it.

Hanalei Buttondown, Owls

I clearly still have an obsession with animal printed things.

5.  I have big hopes of going to the pumpkin farm this weekend.
Eating apple donuts.  Drinking apple cider.
And taking pictures.

Here's a favorite from two years ago.

and now I kind of miss my blond hair.

Happy weekend friends!

Husband's Disapproval

vest: Old Navy (similar)  dress: Old Navy (old) (similar) belt: Target  shoes: dsw

I put this vest on the other day and Chris' first response was "What is that?"

(cue disgusted tone)

"Ummm, a vest."

"You look like you're ready to lead a safari trip."

I then proceeded to tell him that it was a military vest and was actually very trendy right now.
He didn't believe me.

So I told him I'd be able to look up military vest on pinterest and find hundreds of pictures of stylish ladies wearing a similar vest.

I then decided that probably wasn't worth it.

I've actually had this vest for a long time and got it on clearance last year at Old Navy.
I've yet to wear it in warmer weather but have seen so many cute outfits with it I am finally trying it.

And despite Chris' disapproval I will continue to wear it.

Happy Wednesday!

I will never wear . . .

romper: old navy  wedges: shoe outlet

I've learned to no longer say that I will never wear certain fashion trends.

I remember in high school saying I would never wear capris.  I may have said the same thing about leggings.  I'm glad I learned my lesson because I was tempted to say the same thing about rompers.
And now I own three of them.
The only thing I really dislike about rompers is the whole going to the bathroom ordeal.
Especially in a public restroom.  It just doesn't feel right.

Romper #3
Old Navy

I do have to say that I am pretty sure I will not be wearing floral printed jeans or jumpsuits any time soon.

But again, I will never say never.

Are there any styles that you swore you'd never wear, but now do?

sometimes I'm a really good wife

pants: express (at least 7 years ago)  scarf: gap  shoes: dsw
(please ignore the fact that my pants are in desperate need of being ironed.  oops.)

Overall I think I'm a pretty good wife.  And thankfully Chris makes it really clear that I make him happy.
Chris is actually pretty easy to make happy, which I appreciate.
But sometimes, something makes him so incredibly happy and he can't stop talking about it.  After a lot of searching and debating about what lawn mower to buy, he finally found a great deal on a John Deere riding mower.
Now we don't need a riding mower. Our yard is not that big.
But despite the slight increase in lawn mower budget and that it is not a huge need, I agreed with Chris that he should get it.

I feel pretty good about my decision after I saw how unbelievably excited he was.
All within 10 minutes he said to me:

"Did you see my mower?"
"Did you go sit on it in the garage while I was gone?"
"Want to go sit on it when I get home?"
"Aren't you just so excited to ride around on my lawn mower?"
"I'm going to go hang out in the garage with my John Deere."

Happy Husband.  Happy Me.

and posts like this have to make up for ones like this, right?
