Music Mondays

On Mondays Addilyn and I go to music class.  Since Addilyn started crawling I now count music class as my workout for the day.  She rarely stays still on my lap, crawls all over and we are constantly picking them up, flying them in the air, running around the room and trying to sing.  Plus the room has no windows and is ridiculously hot, which leaves me a tired and sweaty mess.  
I often wear my yoga pants and a t-shirt but occasionally like to wear something slightly more cute and this outfit is perfect.  Pony tail, leggings, a thin, loose tee and a scarf.  Plus a bracelet for Addilyn to chew on and play with in the hopes of keeping her still here and there.  

Most of the time Addilyn loves music class.  Really more than the music I think she loves being around other kids and loves putting anything she can in her mouth, like the drums or rattles.   
We've been going since January and even though it's kind of far away and often messes up nap time, it is totally worth it to get out of the house, be around other moms and kids and I know there are plenty of benefits of having Addilyn participate in the songs, motions, and social interactions. 
Although I think she does just fine in that as she usually crawls up to all the other babies, pulls on them, "kisses" them or does her manly grunt.  It's fun to see her crazy little personality come out, even if it's exhausting! 

Summer Katie

A few summers ago, once school ended Chris referred to me many times as "Summer Katie."

Implying that in the summer I am a different person.

At first I was offended, thinking he must think (and then make others think) that I am unhappy, crabby and not as fun during the school year. 

Then I was honest with myself.  Let's be real here. 

Who wouldn't be more relaxed, enjoyable and more fun to be around when they aren't working?

I'm pretty sure I am.

Dear Lauren and Lauren,

I went to World Market last weekend to buy Chris some olives, cheese and crackers for his birthday.
(Yep, we roll out the expensive gifts around here for birthdays.)

And I found this necklace for $6.00.  I love it! 

I am SO excited for this wedding weekend ahead!

It's funny because I almost feel like I've been more involved in your wedding Lauren then in my own.  Maybe that's not true and maybe I don't remember well enough since it was seven years ago.  But I was also pretty much a baby when I got married and my mom helped me an unbelievable amount, so maybe it is true.  

Either way I've been looking forward to this weekend for a long time!

Lauren I can't wait to see you and give you a huge hug tomorrow night.  

Lauren in law you will make a stunning bride and I can't wait to see you marry my brother.  

Getting to be with both of my Laurens is right up top on my happy scale.
