This picture is funny to me because I don't think I look pregnant, but then I turn to the side and hello baby!
Ever since Chris and I got married we always talked about how much we wanted a daughter and would be completely content if we only had girls. I was always so excited about the thought of girl clothes, girl activities and girl names.
If you would have asked me when we started trying to get pregnant, I would have told you that I wanted a girl. After we had trouble getting pregnant I quickly had no preference and longed for a baby, boy or girl just the same.
At our 10 week ultrasound the technician said, although early, it definitely looked like a boy. From that day on I pictured boy. And I was completely thrilled. I pictured our baby a boy, starting thinking of boy nursery ideas, boy names and was so excited.
So when we went in for our 20 week ultrasound we were SO surprised when they said girl.
After our appointment I don't think I knew how excited I would be to be having a girl. I couldn't even sleep that night. Every time I woke up I just smiled, thinking about, picturing and dreaming about life with our daughter. Our daughter. Feels unreal to say.
I of course went to Target the next day and I honestly don't know if I have ever been more happy or excited. I have bought baby clothes countless times, but picking out clothes for my daughter? It felt too good to be true. I was honestly close to tears, as I was overwhelmed with excitement, tenderness, and joy. I am so in love with this baby girl already.
CONGRATS!! I have two daughters and just couldn't imagine my life without them. Girls are so precious....until they start stealing your clothes and making them look better.
ReplyDeleteThis post gave me chills. I'm just so happy for you. Your daughter is blessed and she is going to be so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI am so over the moon excited that your daughter will be my niece! You were so creative and fun in your gender reveal...I love it. But, of course, these pictures made me cry because I couldn't be there in person. Oh well, at least I knew first! : )
ReplyDeleteSo exciting! Have fun shopping for your little one!
ReplyDeleteReading this post, put me to tears. I know just how you felt knowing you are having a girl. I can't wait for the day I find out I'm pregnant again so I can go through the ups and downs of being pregnant and knowing your having a child. Congrats on everything I live following this journey with you. :)
