The last few days have been a little rough in the Vale household. Addilyn got her first cold which has turned into some very restless nights and fussy days. I'm hoping it is the cold and not just a new stage. Combine that with some stress from Chris' work and continuing new mom hormones, and I have had an emotional few days.
In the past one of the things that has helped me relieve some stress was working out. I would feel so much better going for a run or doing a kick boxing video. Now that seems like an option way down on the list of things that would help relieve some stress. Taking a nap or calling my sister definitely beat it out.
Unfortunately the thing that I tend to choose lately is to eat whatever dessert we have in the house. Which today is this banana cake. You see I can't take a nap with a crying baby, or have a good conversation on the phone. I definitely can't work out with a crying baby. But eating a cake right out of the pan. That I've managed to do. And yes. It does help a little bit.
The other day at school I was so stressed and overwhelmed I went and got a Dairy Queen blizzard for lunch! I go to sweets when I'm stressed for sure! Haha! I love the way you knotted your maxi skirt! Such a relaxed look but still so stylish! :) I hope baby girl feels better! Lots of kiddo's at my school are catching colds too. Boo...
ReplyDeletelove you my friend.
ReplyDeleteYou deserve a little cake in your life my friend! Praying for a better week for you next week. :)
ReplyDeleteI love our phone calls. I am so sorry the last few days have been tough. So call me and eat some cake. You will make it through this!
ReplyDeleteI am a FIRM believer in cake as over-the-counter antidepressant!! And I love the look of the knotted maxi... I need to try that next time I wear one. Kicks it up a notch!
ReplyDeleteI hope Addilyn feels better! Get some rest momma!
ReplyDeleteGirlfriend, we are going through so many of the same things at the same time!!! Kendall got sick and was very fussy and had some restless nights and I was very scared that the child I thought I had was gone and was replaced with a crier. But I'm here to tell you that my girl is back to her old self again. It took a little while, but she is doing much better. And eat that cake, you so deserve it. PS love the necklace!!!
ReplyDeletePraying sweet baby girl is feeling better soon. And, sometimes ya just gotta eat the cake!!!
ReplyDeleteAw, I hope she's feeling better! And I totally support eating cake out of the pan!

Hope things get better! I remember when my little brother had pneumonia as 2 month-old. It was so scary, but they're definitely stronger than they look. Addilyn will be back to smiling soon! You can keep eating cake until then ;)

Ah, yes...eating cake does make it better sometimes. Soon you'll have a system that fits in the things you enjoy. I think it took me about six months to get back into working out after my oldest was born. It wasn't until she was napping consistently that I knew I had enough time to get in a workout while she slept. This is not unique to you. Hang in there! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the knotted maxi skirt look! & banana cake...drool!!
