Dear Lauren,

dress: old navy   boots: dsw

I had a hard time taking outfit pictures before, but now it's dark at 4:00, plus the ground is covered in snow. So this will have to do. I wore this to a Christmas party we went to this weekend which Addilyn was excited to attend and was quite the hit since she giggled and smiled whenever she met someone new.
I also feel like I've forgotten how to accessorize because Addilyn eats anything around my neck.  How long until I can wear jewelry again?

I was reminded last week why I blog.  After writing this post I was encouraged by lots of sweet comments, an encouraging email from a friend, and a reminder that this time is going so fast and that I need to stop worrying and enjoy these moments.

Sometimes the fact that your two year old still sleeps terribly scares me for my future.  I know Lena is quite the extreme and you are desperate to find a way to keep her happily sleeping in her bed.  What if she has an awesome bed like this pink Steens midsleeper bed?

You should really enter in a giveaway I shared this weekend.  It'd be a free present for Jim, plus only a few people entered so far, so your chances of winning are quite high!

It was so wonderful to have you here for Thanksgiving and I am super excited that you are going to be here in a little over a week again.  I can't wait to see my sweet niece and nephew again.

I love you so much and will see you so soon!

Love,

  1. My Mom stopped wearing earrings for so long when we were babies that she had to get her ears repierced! Jewelry can definitely be a hazard around little ones! But she's so sweet, and she's definitely earning herself some good baby points by being friendly! Not all babies really like meeting a whole bunch of different people!

  3. You look great in bright colors! I love this dress and you really dont need to accessorize with it! Just wear patterned pieces until you baby can walk. Then she will likely quit grabbing your jewelry. We got a book called "Solving Your Child's Sleep Problems" when our daughter was born. There are so many great remedies for every sleep issue you can imagine! Check it out! Susan

  5. I always sort of forget how to accessorize in the winter time because I just want to wear a scarf and be done. I know once the baby here, I won't even have time to think about jewelry. Love you in that cute dress!

  11. Oh, I can so relate!! I haven't worn jewelry much since Bear was born; I have a huge stash of broken jewelry and failed attempts at accessorizing.

That dress doesn't need anything else; you look beautiful! And so does sweet Addilyn! She's just precious.

  13. I know exactly what you mean about accessories! I've been enjoying the simplicity much more than I anticipated. Plus, I invested in some fund "stud" earrings. They have some super cute ones out there lately -- everywhere! Old Navy, Target, Kohl's (Lauren Conrad), Loft, and many more. I used to overlook small earrings, but Nathaniel isn't as interested in ripping those out. And I don't bother wearing necklaces around him. They would be broken.
