pacifiers. When Addilyn is crying in the car seat or when she is tired and I give it to her and she falls asleep immediately I love it. When she wakes up at night and can't fall back to sleep I hate it. If only it was safe to
have it strapped to her face all night.
my new donut pan. I have wanted one for a long time and finally got it for Christmas. I love it, but I don't need another thing tempting me to eat unhealthy. I've made two different recipes and will have to share the best one. Which of course will take trying out just a few others first.
childbirth. Such an amazing thing. It still blows my mind that Addilyn came from inside me. But I am still not psychically healed from my labor. Not to go into oversharing on this blog, but I am having to go to handfuls of uncomfortable doctor appointments, as at six months out, things still aren't healed.
snow. It was beautiful at Christmas time and I even loved it for a week after. But combined with the cold weather we are sick of being stuck inside. Too bad we have about four more months of winter left. Plus my driveway currently resembles a dirty ice skating rink, which I barely managed to escape without falling while taking these pictures.
reality tv. I love reality tv. It tops my list as my favorite kind of tv. But just every so once in awhile I really think about how dumb it is.
video monitors. I'm so happy for our video monitor so we can see Addilyn when she's sleeping and I can't imagine not having it. But sometimes it makes me crazy because I watch it all the time and when she starts moving a little I'm convinced she's going to wake up and I often look at it like it's a ticking time bomb.
Jeans with zippers. Nope. I actually still just hate these. Jeggings continue to win. Everyday.
Cute outfit! I love the stripes and scarf.
ReplyDeleteI like your love/hate list too- I can see where you're coming from on just about all of those.
Stay warm!
Lori
I love this casual look! I'm totally with you on the love/hate list. Especially being in awe of childbirth and the ticking time bomb video monitor! I sometimes hold my breath while watching it haha!
ReplyDeleteI've had two pacifier babies, and one not... The middle of the night paci search is a definite pain, but it's so worth it! It was so much easier to soothe my paci babies!
ReplyDeleteWill pray for your healing! Childbirth definitely takes a toll...
I don't really get the "love" part regarding snow. Pretty much pure dislike over here. :-S
<3 <3 <3 reality TV! It's people watching from the comfort of my own home! :)
And I still wish those Wal-Mart jeggings worked for me. Cheap and comfy is right up my alley. And you look FAB!
It's hard when it's six months later and you're like," when will I feel normal again?!" I know it's very disheartening.... I hope you feel better mama!!!!
ReplyDeleteI couldnt agree more with all of these...I'm sorry you are dealing with all the doctors appts. I honestly think the body doesnt totally feel quite right for months and months after labor, and thats without complications!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, loving everything! I especially love the scarf!
Aesthetic Lounge
I love this outfit..orange is one of my favorite colors. I have a similar top, which I got at Target. You just gave me some new ideas of how to wear it :) Oh my, I won't share here, but I had something very interesting happen when the drs were stitching me up after the birth of my oldest. I will never forget the my ob's look of shock at my six week appointment...not so comforting! I think all of us who have given birth have a story or two.
ReplyDeleteIf I could get away with it, I'd wear jeggings everyday. I got some of those nice thick gray ones from Wal-Mart. I'm only slightly ashamed that I wear them all weekend long, every weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit, especially the vest!

I never had a video monitor. I always wanted one, but I knew it would make me (even more) crazy! I am sorry you are dealing with all of the doctor appts. and things still aren't healed, but you WILL feel better. Sometimes it just takes SO long! And yes, reality tv is so good and oh so bad. :) You look adorable, by the way. I love the boots.
ReplyDeleteI did not have a baby and I still think jeggings win!

Sparkles and Shoes
I am so with you on the snow thing! I love it because it looks so pretty but I really don't like it because it means cold weather and time off from work that I can't really afford!
ReplyDeletePlease do share the donut recipes you have! I am a sucker for donuts. :) also, I'm praying for you and healing from your labor. Xo
ReplyDeleteHaha yay for jeggings! I am SO with you on pacifiers. Oh and I have quite the reality tv addiction. I used to be ashamed, but I spend enough time doing responsible things to justify a little brain-numbing television.
ReplyDeleteYou converted me to jeggings. I'm a little bit obsessed. I'm saving up for a donut pan, but I'm hoping I don't get too tempted!

I can relate so much to your childbirth issue! I'm so thankful to be pregnant again, but I'm actually really dreading childbirth again! Micha's birth was slightly traumatic for me! Only 5 more months, eek!
ReplyDeleteGreat top and vest!! Super cute! I am going to add that I hate this winter! It is still below zero here and I am sick of wearing snow pants every day!!! Ok - but I love your blog and your vest(: Blessings! Susan

ReplyDeleteThose red boots are really cute! Also, homemade donuts must be the best - I look forward to your recommended recipe!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't worn pants with zippers in so long (actually cannot remember the last time I wore jeans). I'm obsessed with the brand Hue and their leggings. They come in every color and look like real pants! The elastic is the way to go! Visiting from The Pleated Poppy.

Such a cute outfit! I remember those moments with pacifiers, then Grant discovered his thumb and I took a sigh of relief :)
ReplyDeleteOh, the pacifier thing. It hasn't been like that at night until very recently, and it's incredibly frustrating having to keep going into Gabe's room at night because he's lost it. :(
ReplyDeleteVideo monitors -- we had an audio one with Ethan. Shortly after he turned 2, we received a free video monitor for a blog review, and I LOVED it. We bought a second camera for Gabe's room when we moved. Loved it. Then, it died...and I thought I needed another one RIGHT AWAY, but we've been using our audio one since October and I don't miss what you mentioned -- looking at it constantly, seeing movement, and feeling dread. Haha! ;)
I love your outfit! I have a love hate relationship with the pacifier as well. Hopefully the doctors can get you fixed up. I had a pretty rough time after Brighton and it was no fun.
ReplyDeleteI'm with ya on the pacifier!! Darn that giving birth. My incision is just now feeling ok. I hope you are all better soon.
ReplyDeleteYour rainboots are so adorable with this outfit!
ReplyDeleteI am really over the snow and cold too. We're supposed to get more over the next few days and I cannot handle it!

haha I have worn a real pair of pants like twice in the three months since childbirth....and wanted to get out of them almost immediately.Jeggings and leggings are SO much better. :) I have had to steadily turn town the volume on our monitor because I was listening to it like a ticking time-bomb, too!
ReplyDeleteHope things get healed up quickly. :( No fun.
leggings jeans are the champion of my closet right now too! I am sending you my best wishes for a continued recovery. We are amazing creatures to be able to make children!
