Hail to the mom jeans

blazer: tjmaxx    tee & pants: old navy   flats: target

It's been awhile since I've attempted to wear super low cut jeans.  Even before I was pregnant, I learned quickly as I entered adulthood that constantly pulling up your pants or showing your underwear is not attractive.  But I still wore many pants that sat on my hips.

That is no longer the case.  Thanks to always sitting on the ground, constantly bending over and the main reason: having a much "softer" midsection thanks to pregnancy, low cut jeans are not my friend.
I had yet to find a good pair of high waisted, skinny jeans.

That is until last weekend.  Thanks to a $5 coupon for trying on a pair of pants that lured me in, I found my new favorite pair of jeans.  Which were only $19, plus $5 off.  I probably should've bought them in another color.

I am way overdue for going through my old jeans and getting rid of the many pairs that are way too low and don't fit. I'm pretty sure I will be wearing high waisted mom jeans from here on out.

  1. Yes, yes, yes...I adore this post. People can say what they will, but mom jeans exist for a reason... (and can even look cute!) :)

  2. If only more moms would learn to dress appropriately! Being a mom doesn't mean you can't be fashionable, but you don't need to dress like your teenage daughter either!!

  3. I don't have any children yet, but when I hit 25 I figured out how much I appreciate those extra few inches in the rise.

  5. I so wish I could wear old navy jeans, these are cute. I love me some high waisted mom jeans. So comfortable. I have a really long waist so I have never been able to wear anything that is a low cut.

  10. I LOVE my Old Navy skinny jeans and their ankle pants/capris that are in all different prints. Perfect for us teachers who don't love super dressy clothes, like to be comfortable yet fashionable. I bought several pairs on sale last weekend.

You look great, you would never know you had a baby less than a year ago!

  14. Yeah what style are these? They're so cute and I want them. Are they kind of stretchy too? I love me some jeans with a bit of stretch.

  15. Those jeans look so nice! I love the whole outfit. It is so hard to find jeans that fit after having a baby! I bought new ones right after Scarlett was born, but they're too big now, but my pre-pregnancy jeans will probably never fit my much-wider hips again. Did you get these at Old Navy? I really need to buckle down and purchase a few pairs like that, because the ones I have now just aren't working!

  16. I've found that Levi's has some great high-waisted styles, in both skinny and boot-cut. I usually find Levi's on clearance at Kohl's for around $10, you just have to keep am eye out! And they aren't actually "Mom jeans" if they don't have that ugly "mom jean" wash, right?

  17. These are certainly not mom jeans! They fit you perfectly! But I hear you on the higher cut. I'm sure it's a change I'll be making to my wardrobe too soon enough!

  20. Total jean twins! I love their high waisted rockstar jeans now! Cause I agree, maybe showin my crack to everyone when I'm in public at the age of almost 27 isn't attractive lol

  21. :) So true! I love the Loft's curvy fit skinny jeans. Just enough room for the butt and bigger hips to fit, and they don't show things that shouldn't be shown.

  26. I think I tried on every pair of jeans they had at Old Navy a few weeks ago. But alas, nothing fit. :-S These look great on you, though! And I love the stripes and leopard combo you have going on!

  28. Love Old Navy jeans! That's all I have bought since I had my boy. It's so true about not being able to wear low cute jeans, I just can't or everyone would see my underwear all the time!! Great post! Do you know what style these were? I know they have different kinds.
