If you're wondering . . .

shirt: jcpenney   jeans: target   boots: old navy

If you're wondering if I am cold the answer is yes.

If you're wondering where my shirt is from the answer is that I just got it at JCPenney this weekend for $5. Plus I had a giftcard so the answer is that it was actually free.

If you're wondering why I'm wearing real jeans with a zipper that answer is because my trusty jeggings got a whole in the knee.  Perhaps it's because I wear them at least three times a week.  Thankfully a friend of mine found a pair at her walmart after a desperate text of what will I possibly wear everyday.

If you're wondering if I still hate the words jeggings and booties the answer is yes.

If you're wondering what I ate for dinner last night the answer is macaroni and cheese with a glass of wine and I couldn't be happier about it.

If you're wondering if I could eat the entire box myself the answer is yes, but I managed to save about five bites to make myself not feel quite so bad since the serving size is four.  (Is that even possible?)

If you're wondering if Addilyn has mastered putting the pacifier in her mouth herself that answer is still no.  This is the best she's done so far and you would've believe how proud of herself she was.

If you're wondering is I have any other unflattering pictures of my daughter to share the answer is yes.

Happy Friday friends!

Cheapskates

scarf: diy (easy tutorial here)   sweater & boots: old navy   pants: kohls

I've talked numerous times about how cheap I can be.  Which can come in handy for shopping.  Like how I got these boots last year for under $10 or these pants for under $5.

But being cheap definitely came with a few challenges when we got married, as Chris was the opposite of cheap and didn't think twice about spending more money. Thankfully we've both learned a little from each other and have balanced each other out.  He's learned the art of saving money and I've learned how to enjoy things like going out to dinner or a movie.

I kind of think if I married someone more like myself I may land myself a role on the TLC show Cheapskates.  Who are the extreme of being cheap.  Like not using toilet paper and making your own deodorant cheap.  Or only getting furniture from dumpsters kind of cheap.  It's one of those shows that is so disturbing you can't not watch it.  And I really don't think I could ever go to those extremes.

Although in college we did do our share of dumpster diving runs to Krispie Kreme donuts.  And believed we hit the jackpot when we'd find full packaged boxes of donuts that could fill up our trunk.

And I wish I could say that we only ate donuts that were in nicely packaged boxes, but that would be a lie. On the occasion we would grab the defect bag of donuts and we may have eaten those too.  I think the Cheapskate producers should start visiting some college campuses for new candidates for the show.

No Sweets January

scarf: kiki la ru   jeans: kohls   sweater & boots: old navy

It's no secret that I have a major sweet tooth and I've mentioned before that I needed to do something about it as I think about eating desserts and want to eat them all day long.  I decided that I would do my very best to not eat any during the month of January and am extremely proud of myself for being successful so far.

I should say that I am not cutting out any sugar, but more so desserts.  Which is why I've made banana bread a few times and donuts twice this month.  Breakfast foods.  Not dessert right? Baby steps here.

I even have a box of Mike and Ike's sitting on my counter that my mother in law brought me on one of the many days we were stuck and home.  Still unopened.  Now that is restraint.

Addilyn ironically starting sleeping even worse than before since New Years, which is when I stopped eating desserts. Which makes me believe she is having some sort of sugar withdrawal and although I know that can't be true I think maybe it is.

Love your sleep and sweet deprived friend,
