Addi says what

During a marathon of bedtime stalling: I'll just sleep with my eyes open.

Me: What do you want to do this week? We don't have any plans.
Addi: We can buy more from the store.  More plans.

Going down stairs I told Addi to be careful because they were steep.  "It's okay. I'm a big girl. Big girls can do steep."

Addi: We can't go to the store tomorrow because it's going to rain.
Me: How do you know that?
Addi: I checked the new and it said it was going to rain.

Prepare to be amazed!!!!

While she was using stamps: Only I can use these because they are very special to my whole life.

Addi: Is that dress for you or for me?
Me: It's for me.
Addi: That won't fit you, you sly dog.

My niece Annie was over and was talking and Addi looks at her, then me and says, "She has such a pesky little voice."

Talking to Chris about where milk comes from while pouring cereal.  "Mama is kind of like a cow."

Grandma: Where did you get that bruise from?
Addi: Preschool.  It's a very dangerous place.

Saying "hot llama" always, instead of hot lava.

After going to the bathroom Addi says, "Oh. My.  Word."  Then a few seconds later, looks at me confused and says, "Why did I say that?"

Addi says what

Addi barely tripped on my shoe and didn't even fall over on our walk, "That almost ruined my whole life."

I was putting her to bed and she listed off her 84th request and told me she was hungry.  I told her I didn't believe her and she said, "But my belly is saying Feed me! Feed me!"  (Except she says her f's with a p sound, so it is "Peed me! Peed me!"

In the pool on vacation she was holding onto the railing by my sister and said "This is my new daddy. My real daddy couldn't be here when I wanted him to, so I found my new daddy." Lauren asked her if she missed her real daddy and she said, "No, not really."

Lauren was helping her go the bathroom and she asked Addi if she needed help putting her pants back and she said, "Well typically when I'm home my mom does it, but since she's not here you can."

Addi kept making jokes about poop and Chris told her the verse in the Bible that says, "out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks."  She started making up a song saying "get that poop out of your heart.  Get that poop out of your heart right now."

I came out of Isaac's room after putting him down for a nap and Addi's yogurt was covering her high chair, hands, in her hair and on the couch.  To my wide eyed look, "But it is a good idea mama!"

The other day Addi got a sucker and later that day she asked for another one.  When I told her no she said with her hands on her hips "I literally need another sucker.  Right.  Now."

"Mama put Isaac back in your belly.  I don't like him anymore."

At the start of fireworks, "Daddy the sky is on fire! Are you crying?"

I told Addi she was getting so old and asked her what she wanted for her birthday.  "A new Addi. This one is too old."

Addi says what

"We got the bad guy.  I couldn't have done it without you".

We were trying to cut these fake flower stems with wire cutters and I couldn't get it and she said, "Oh man! That is so disappointing!"

Addi kept calling Chris "Chris" and he said don't call me that and she said, "I know what's best for you Chris."

Chris was pouring her milk and she said "I don't like a lot.  I like just enough."

"I love Molly.  She is my very best friend."

Addi wanted something in the store and Chris said no.  She kept asking and Chris sang the song "You can always get what you want.  But you get what you need." and she said, "But I neeeeed everything!"

"I have an ouchie."  I told her I thought it was dry skin and we'd put lotion on it. "No a bandage maybe?"

While I was changing Isaac's diaper, "He has a little penis.  When his penis is bigger he can pee on the toilet."  I told her she could pee on the toilet and she said "Nah. I don't have a penis."

I was giving Addi a time out for not listening to me.  She had been running around pretending to be a monster and didn't come when I called her many times.  In time out I was telling that she needed to listen when I called her and she said in a very grunting manly voice, "You can't give a monster a time out!"

"No I am not a baby.  I can take care of myself."

Chris and her were running errands and he said "None of the stores open until ten so we'll just play in the car for 15 minutes."  She said, "No daddy.  Let's just end up instead."

"I used your nipples when I was a baby."

Addi says what

"I have sneeze on my hand."

Chris was playing with a sock puppet and said with the puppet "Will you be my friend?"  Addi responded, "Sorry I can't.  I'm busy."

The other night I was crying when I was sitting in Addi's rocking chair with her before bed and she looked up and said, "Oh no.  Mama are you nauseous? It's ok.  I'm right here."

Holds up my bra and says, "Are these for your nibbles?"

Often says, "What's going on here?"

"I don't know how to clap anymore.  Because I'm a big girl."  I told her I thought she could and to try. "I was just tricking you."

Addi was playing with her cousin Annie and she was being chased and I could hear her kind of yelling.  Lauren and I walked in the room and she said, "I don't know what is going on in here. I'm just trying to get away."

Says often after she almost falls, "I dropped myself."

She got herself stuck in a toy crate and had one leg out, panicked and about to cry, "Mama!! I just don't know what to do about this!"

Her cousin pulled her hair and was in a time out.  "Is Annie going to apologize me now?"  Then a few minutes after they were playing Addi took a wand and say, "Abracadabra! Annie be kind!"

We were in the middle of playing with marbles and Addi stood up and said "But I don't have a penis." I told her no you don't, because you're a girl and she said, "But I used to have one, but I don't anymore."

Addi Says What

Everybody lime up!!  (She says this often and I can't bring myself to tell her it is line.)

Addi what's your Christmas wish?
"It's allllll about mama!!!!"

I love you mama. And I love Lena and I love Travis.
"What about Annie?"
No.  Babies are not my love.  Grown ups are my love.  I'm not good at loving babies.  Just grown ups.

We went to see Santa and she asked him for a baby doll.  On the way home she said so disappointedly, "but he didn't give me a baby doll!!!"

Randomly in the car "I have a tiny head.  A really tiny head."

She sat on Chris' lap and said, "daddy.  I'm sitting on your privacy."

We were playing on the bed and I pushed Addi over like we had been doing the last five minutes and she stopped and look appalled and said "Don't push people.  People do not like to be pushed."

You know what? I'm going to name my baby brother Addi when he grows up to be a big girl!

We were trying to tell Addi which hand was her left and which was her right and we asked her to raise her right hand and she said, "I've got nothing for you guys."

Addi and I were playing with these flash cards and she said "Okay listen up.  These are the rules. You pick them up and then throw them down."  So I picked some up and threw then down and she said, "No, no no.  These are very special to my life."

Addi Says What . . . . . 28 months

It's been awhile since I've done an Addilyn update.  She is just becoming the funniest little thing.  Little being quite appropriate as I'm realizing a majority of her Fall and Winter clothes fit from last year.  I'm pretty sure her legs haven't really grown since then.  Lucky me that I get more wear out of her cute clothes!  Here's a few things she's said in the last month or so . . . .

"Molly can't come downstairs.  I need my space."

We were eating dinner at my parents and she leaned over to me and said "Can I have a sip of your water Katie?"  I looked at her kind of surprised and she looked surprised herself and said "I just called you Katie!"  Like she couldn't believe she called me that.

I was telling Addi how she gets to go to a new class tomorrow (MOPS) and she said "um . . . I'll just go in a few weeks instead."

Chris said "I love you Addilyn" and she said "No, I love my mama."  I told her that she can love lots of people and she said, "Oh yeah! I love Lena and aunt Lauren and Grandpa too!"

She was in the bathtub washing her belly and then her butt, and surprised said "Hey! I got a butt crack.  I got a butt crack just like you daddy!"

The other day she lifted up her shirt and said to me "Want to say hi to my baby? He's a boy.  He has a penis just like my daddy."

I asked Addilyn what says neigh and she answered, "Aunt Lo!  Now watch me whip, watch me nay nay."

She also started responded to questions with "Meh."

And often will run around saying "Holla for me" with her hand in the air waving.

We were cuddling after her nap and I said "I love you Addi.  Your my best buddy."  She wrapped her arms around my neck, pulled my head next to hears, and patted me saying "that's my dear, that's my dear."

Chris asked her if she was going to be a great big sister and she said "No I'm a big girl.  And I'm a woman!"

Sweet Addi Jane - thank you for making me laugh daily.  You are the best thing ever!
