Body Double

Another favorite
I wore this outfit on Thanksgiving and it's one of my favorite maternity outfits. I wore this top a handful of times this last spring and summer, and love that I can wear it in the fall and winter, and pregnant. Loose, flowy and comfortable. My favorite things.
Hope you all have a great weekend! Happy almost Friday!

How to make your belly look smaller
dress: c/o shein scarf: ebay boots: dsw
Want to know how to make your big belly look smaller? Wear a scarf that looks like it's about to take over your body. This will help your self esteem, especially after last night. I decided to take a bath because my body was not feeling great and sadly my belly (or my boobs) didn't even come close to being under water, to which Addilyn thought was hysterical. She kept running back in the bathroom, standing next to the tub and cracking up. Glad you think my body is so funny. Thank you for helping me make my bath so relaxing.
In other news, this sweater is wonderful. It's non maternity, but super stretchy. Also love that it's holey, because my overheated pregnant gets hot way too fast!

It's time to cut myself off
sweater & vest: old navy leggings: gap boots: just fab
I officially need to cut myself off from going to Old Navy or looking on their website. Whether for clothes for myself or for Addilyn, I have spent too much money there the last many months! But their clothes are so cute, comfortable and cheap! I ordered this maternity sweater online a few weeks ago, along with two other super cute tops. Each top was under $10, plus I had $10 off for super cash and got free shipping, so really they were almost free. I got the vest for $18 at the outlet store on our weekend away last month, and have worn it non stop. I know they had $15 vests the other day and I so badly wanted to get another color but I refrained. See, I do have some self control?
And I fully intend to wear this, and the other tops I got well after this baby is born so even more worth my money, right? Also, I may have given up on my quest for really cute maternity jeans. Leggings for the win every day.

Doing lately . . . .
top: shade maternity (old) leggings: gap maternity boots: zulily vest: c/o shein
Wearing . . . . this green hooded vest which is perfect for cool, rainy days we've had.
Watching . . . Limitless. Chris and I's new favorite show. It is soooo good. We also started Supergirl last night, and I surprisingly was a fan.
Cooking . . . this Thai Chicken crock pot meal (so good and so easy!) and homemade twix bars for girls night this week.
Taking . . . a short nap most days when Addilyn naps. I swear I had energy for about three days and then back to feeling exhausted all the time.
Making . . . . a mobile for baby boy's room. I love it and can't wait to finish it!
Looking forward to . . . a girls day and night away this weekend with my mom, aunt and sisters.

Sweater Weather
I'm so happy we are finally in sweater weather here and there. We've had a few cooler days, especially the mornings, and I couldn't be happier about it. I LOVE these two new sweaters and know I will be wearing them a ton. Pockets, comfy, baggy and soft. Definite fall requirements. And I can wear them with jeans, dresses, over tank tops . . . . Plus my growing belly does not get in the way. Win, win, win!
Plus it also means getting out my trusty $7 Target booties. I remember debating buying them and don't know what I was thinking. I wear them all the time in the Fall! Excuse the wrinkles. Iron, what?

Tender Moments
scarf: made my me (tutorial here) top: shade clothing skirt: target maternity leggings: jcpenney
This whole pregnancy journey so far has been quite an emotional one. From our long road to get here to our scary complications at the start. There have been many moments where I've been overcome with emotions from fear to excitement. Thankfully the majority of the overwhelming emotions lately have been due too complete tenderness and joy at the thought of bringing our daughter into our lives.
Feeling her first movements, finding out she was a girl, Chris feeling her kick for the first time, hanging up clothes in her closet, registering for baby stuff . . . There have been so many surreal moments the last month or so that have filled my heart with excitement and joy and have brought me to tears.
Of course I still have fears and have a handful of things that I am not enjoying, like not sleeping, being extra emotional, gaining weight and feeling out of control of changes that are happening.
BUT I still wake up daily, feel my growing belly and praise God for this miracle.
I want to savor these precious tender moments that are such a gift.

High Five for Friday
shirt: old navy pants: H&M maternity shoes: target
1. I had thought I'd wear a lot of belted shirts in the early pregnancy stage but due to the fact that the majority of my shirts don't fit my upper half, this is the first time.
2. One of my students asked me in all seriousness, "So when are we going to name your baby?" I had to break it to her that I wasn't really going to let my class choose a name. (If you remember their first suggestion was Zorro.)
3. I feel like the only recipes I post about are desserts. I swear I eat dinner too. I made these this week for our small group and they were SO good. Of course Chris said they were one of the best desserts he's ever had.
4. After many comments on this post I thought I definitely had an idea that was going to make me rich. Turns out someone has thought of pretty much the same thing. Thank you Allison for sharing this with me. If it wasn't $90 I'd buy it and put it on my bed.

5. I'm was so excited to get some fabric that I ordered from fabric.com. I love the colors! I am planning on using the elephant fabric for a crib skirt and maybe curtains.

How I'm going to get rich
dress: target maternity scarf: gap boots: ?
I have always been a terrible sleeper, which I'm sure hoping isn't passed on to my daughter.
I could count on one hand the amount of times a year I sleep through the night.
Since being pregnant my sleeping has gone even more downhill and I attribute most of it to not being able to find a comfortable position since I always slept on my stomach. Even with the use of body pillows I can not get comfortable on my side.
Which is why I'm convinced I need to invent a pregnancy mattress that has a hole in it, so your stomach can go in it. It could even have different sections or wedges that can accommodate your growing belly.
In case you can't picture what I'm talking about, I thought it would be a good use of my time to draw one.
Now I'm pretty sure chiropractors and doctors would not support this invention, but I'm guessing that a good amount of pregnant woman would still buy it. Which is why I think I could make some decent money if I sold them. What do you think? Any fellow stomach sleepers out there?
