The other day I started making a list of things things I wanted to accomplish by the time I'm 30. Which is only six months away.
One of the things on my list is to attend a blog conference. I have yet to go to one and am always a little envious of all the social media posts I see while these conferences are going on. I actually have never even met a blogging friend in real life. Which is really too bad since many of the relationships I've made have become real friends. Making connections with other bloggers has been my favorite thing about blogging and I'd love the chance to do that in person.
One of the biggest blogging conferences is BlogHer. Last year the conference was held in Chicago and I looked into going. Had Addilyn's due date not been the same week I would have loved to go! This year is the 10th Anniversary BlogHer celebration and it will be held in San Jose, California July 24-26. If only it was in Chicago again!
I think the thing I would look forward to the most about these conferences is meeting some of the girls that I've been in contact with the last two years.
I also know that there is so much that I don't know when it comes to blogging and growing my blog, which I would love to continue to do. I kind of feel like I've hit a roadblock lately when it comes to growing my blog and I would love some motivation and advice on how to move forward.
Like things regarding how to use social media to grow my blog, seeing as my only status updates involve mostly only interesting to me pictures of Addilyn's oh so exciting daily "accomplishments." I'd love to hear the session called Blogging Fundamentals where they'll talk about the difference between building pageviews and building community. Or the one about mom blogging, because let's be honest I happily fall right into that category. Looking through the list of sessions makes me want to hear what they have to say! Speaking at these sessions are bloggers like Jenny Lawson (from the Bloggess) and keynote speakers like Kerry Washington.
But besides attending sessions, you get to spend time meeting friends and learning about new products. All while posting pictures on social instagram that make me wish I was there.
You can register here to attend this year's BlogHer conference. Book your tickets now as they go quickly! And if you registery quickly you can now get 25% of the full conference price.
Have you ever been to a blogging conference? Which one and did you love it?

I have not gone to one, but my cousin went to Haven last year. She has a blog about diy/home type stuff. We talked a little about it, and it sounded very interesting.
BlogHer just seems super overwhelming and I know a lot of non-bloggers that go to it. I've never been myself, but I hope to maybe sometime go to a local/regional blogger conference.

I've never been, but like you, when I see instagram posts or blog post about it I kind of wish i were there...I know I'd love meeting other bloggers and this is a conference I actually WANT to attend as opposed to my old work conferences I used to moan and groan about:)

That sounds awesome.
I've never gone to a blog conference, but I would LOVE to! Oh man. I wish the tickets were cheaper.
I've never been to an actual blog conference but have had the chance to meet LOTS of blog friends and I'm so happy about that! Making new friends and meeting people going through similar things as you, etc, is the one thing I love most about blogging :)
This is what I forgot on my 30 before 30 list! lol. Seriously though - I'd been wanting to go to a blog conference for a while now. I'm seriously considering attending Erin's Blogcation she's holding. Can non-blogher members attend this conference?
Are you going this year?? I got my email notification the other day and San Jose is only an hour away!
I'm hoping to attend one next month if I can get the time off work, I hope you get to one soon!
