Our Cinderella

Last Halloween kind of felt like a bust.  We certainly had the cutest little lamb, but both Addilyn and Chris were sick, the weather was awful, and it did not turn out at all how I had planned.  Thankfully this year was so much better.  Plus Addilyn was so excited and had been practicing saying "trick or treat" all week.  And of course Chris had to teach her "Trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat," and she couldn't stop singing it.  Thank goodness she's so cute.

To no surprise she wanted to be Cinderella.  I found her costume for $15 on Amazon.  It was a little big and I tried to pin it up, but she still kept tripping on it.  The weather was not great, but we weren't out long and ten or so houses were plenty.  We went to Chris' parents' neighborhood and my sister and her kids came too.  It was so fun trick or treating with everyone.  Somewhere there are a million pictures of all four kids and of course not everyone still or looking! I need to find who's phone they are on.

Addilyn loved holding the umbrella as we walked.

It was pretty stinkin cute!  Crazy to think next year we'll have another baby to dress up!  Holidays just keep getting more and more fun, and I can't even wait for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Times Two

vest: tjmaxx  top: target  leggings: gap  boots: old navy

I'm a big fan of clothing that I can wear not pregnant or pregnant.  Especially ones that won't stretch out and be ruined after fitting over a big belly for months.  (Thank goodness Old Navy v-neck tees are so cheap because I'm pretty sure most of my are already pretty stretched out.)  I love this vest and am happy that I can wear it throughout the Winter and rest of my pregnancy!

vest: tjmaxx   tee: target   jeans & sandals: old navy
Someday I'll miss that pregnant belly right?  Right now I miss that flatter, smaller belly!  Here are a few other items that would be perfect pregnant or not:
apricot vest // chunky cardigan
tassel cardigan // tan sweater

Hope you guys have a great weekend! Happy almost Friday!

Addi Says What . . . . . 28 months

It's been awhile since I've done an Addilyn update.  She is just becoming the funniest little thing.  Little being quite appropriate as I'm realizing a majority of her Fall and Winter clothes fit from last year.  I'm pretty sure her legs haven't really grown since then.  Lucky me that I get more wear out of her cute clothes!  Here's a few things she's said in the last month or so . . . .

"Molly can't come downstairs.  I need my space."

We were eating dinner at my parents and she leaned over to me and said "Can I have a sip of your water Katie?"  I looked at her kind of surprised and she looked surprised herself and said "I just called you Katie!"  Like she couldn't believe she called me that.

I was telling Addi how she gets to go to a new class tomorrow (MOPS) and she said "um . . . I'll just go in a few weeks instead."

Chris said "I love you Addilyn" and she said "No, I love my mama."  I told her that she can love lots of people and she said, "Oh yeah! I love Lena and aunt Lauren and Grandpa too!"

She was in the bathtub washing her belly and then her butt, and surprised said "Hey! I got a butt crack.  I got a butt crack just like you daddy!"

The other day she lifted up her shirt and said to me "Want to say hi to my baby? He's a boy.  He has a penis just like my daddy."

I asked Addilyn what says neigh and she answered, "Aunt Lo!  Now watch me whip, watch me nay nay."

She also started responded to questions with "Meh."

And often will run around saying "Holla for me" with her hand in the air waving.

We were cuddling after her nap and I said "I love you Addi.  Your my best buddy."  She wrapped her arms around my neck, pulled my head next to hears, and patted me saying "that's my dear, that's my dear."

Chris asked her if she was going to be a great big sister and she said "No I'm a big girl.  And I'm a woman!"

Sweet Addi Jane - thank you for making me laugh daily.  You are the best thing ever!

Headbands and easy hair forever

vest: tjmaxx  top: old navy  leggings: target  boots: zulily

While most of my "outfit" photos have my hair down or pulled back somewhat nicely, every other day and most of the afternoon/evening my hair is in a messy ball and often accompanied by a headband.  Which is why I was so excited when Melody emailed me telling me about her products from Lilla Rose.  Except this headband takes my hair up a notch and makes me feel much more presentable and like my hair is actually styled.

I had never heard of Lilla Rose before this.  Their company is full of beautiful hair pieces - clips, pins and headbands.  They are all a little "fancier" than your typical headband making it really easy to style your hair and make it look beautiful!

Melody is a busy mom of four young boys (5, 4, 2 1/2 and 1) and is a consultant for Lilla Rose.  She loves being with her boys, hiking, reading and all things girly.  Not having much time for fixing her hair, she loves the simplicity of Lilla Rose hair accessories, and the stylish look they give!

I choose this beautiful pearl headband and I love it.  The headbands come with a comfortable adjustable piece in the back.  This is awesome because I have a smaller head and sometimes headbands slip right off my hair (also thanks to my super thin, fine hair).  I know some other people that have slightly bigger heads (hi Lauren) that would love this feature too!

Thank you so much for my headband Melody.  I love it!  Melody was so sweet to work with and I enjoyed getting to know her. She wanted to give away a product to one reader too!  Enter below:

Winner will be contacted next week.  Thank you for entering!

Bella Gravida

“I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Bella Gravida. I received a complimentary subscription and a promotional item to thank me for my participation.”

kimono: Pink Blush c/o Bella Gravida

I mentioned it about a month ago, but I got a chance to try out a new company called Bella Gravida. It's basically like Netflix but for maternity clothes.  Bella Gravida means beautifully pregnant in Italian, and their goal is to help pregnant woman feel beautiful, with lots of wardrobe options!  You fill out a profile, what sizes you are, what clothing items you like and what subscription plan you choose.  For the plan I have you get three clothing items at a time and can send each item back whenever you'd like.  There were a few times I didn't love the item or it didn't fit right so I sent it back right away.  You can go in your profile and let them know it's on the way, and they will get your next item sent out right away!  Shipping is super fast, and you don't pay anything extra for shipping either way.  Just send your items back (you don't even need to wash them - they'll do that for you!) in the prepaid envelope and stick it in your mailbox.

Here's a look at my current "closet."  I really hope they send me that fur vest next! You pick from a bunch of items to add to your "closet" and then when you're up for a new item, one of them is sent to you.  I really like just about all the items I got.  Sometimes I knew I wouldn't have a chance to wear a dress soon because it was dressier than my day to day style, so I sent it back.  This would be so great if I was still teaching or working.  Maternity clothes are pretty expensive, especially ones nice enough for work, so it'd be nice to have lots of options and not have to pay for each one.

Both of these tops were in my first package, as I'm sure you can tell it was from awhile ago, hence the much smaller bump.  Both tops are from Pink Blush, which is my favorite maternity shop.  I love them!  You also have the option of keeping any items for purchase.  I actually still have the red one because I love it so much!

This would also be perfect for the holidays.  Even though I'm not working, the holidays are one time of the year I have more chances to dress up and it'd be great to not have to go shopping for maternity dresses and spend the money on fancy outfits.  Speaking of holidays, this would be a great gift to give to a pregnant friend! In a few weeks, there will be a "Give the Gift of Style" option on Bella Gravida's site, so you can do just that!

I loved getting a chance to try out this service and am excited to help spread the word about this company.  Monthly plans start as low as $39, but for a limited time you can get your first month subscription for free!
