My favorite kind of Announcement

I was so excited about Addilyn's newborn pictures way before she even arrived.  While I am normally quite the cheap person I knew that I wanted professional newborn pictures and am so glad we decided to spend the money to get them done.  We found this amazing photographer called Lemonade Stand Photography and she did such a beautiful job.  We could not be happier with all of our pictures and I look at them ALL the time.  

She was pretty much the baby whisperer and could move Addilyn into this cutest poses and put her right back to sleep.  There's been many nights I actually wish she was in our house and could help me get her to sleep at night. 

With so many adorable pictures to choose from I had the hardest time picking which ones to use for our baby announcements.  (Don't even ask me how I'll choose which ones to hang in our house.)  Besides having a hard time choosing which pictures to use, I also had a hard time deciding which birth announcement to use as there are so many beautiful birth announcements on Tiny Prints.  I made four different ones and had them in my project cart on their site for many days, until I finally decided on this one: 

We got our announcements within a few days of ordering them and I had them sitting on our counter, looked at them a few times a day and it wasn't until many days after that I realized that the weight said 9 lbs. 13 oz instead of 8 lbs. 13 oz.  I almost cried.  I couldn't believe that I only had about four pieces of information to enter and I messed it up!  I'm blaming it on lack of sleep.  I decided to call customer service just in case they could do something and they were so nice and helpful and are sending me a whole set of new cards.  I couldn't believe it.  I almost told the man that helped me that I loved him.  

Besides birth announcements I love that tiny prints has so many other things you can create.  Before I had Addilyn I started a photo book to document my pregnancy.  Thank goodness I started it before she came because I haven't worked on it since!  I wanted to use my weekly pregnancy pictures and letters to Addilyn. And because I couldn't possibly only share a few of her newborn pictures, here are a few more of my favorites.  Maybe everyone in my family will get some kind of personalized photo gift with Addilyn on it for Christmas.  Who wouldn't want that? :) 

Can I add one more thing to my post that motherhood has made me dramatic?  I'm adding that I have the cutest baby in the world. 

High Five for Friday

1.  I am starting to feel limited in what I can wear and what is comfortable and am starting to wear the same pieces over and over like this jeggings from Walmart.  $10 was definitely money well spent!

2.  My class threw me a surprise baby shower this week.  It was wonderful!  One of the mom's made a little scrapbook/photo album and had the kids write advice for me.  I'll have to share some of them in another post next week!  

3.  As a thank you to my parent volunteers this year I made this popcorn.  I've seen many recipes like this on pinterest but managed to make it even easier than those. 

Pop two bags of popcorn and take out any kernels.  Melt one package of white almond bark and pour over popcorn.  Mix it all up.  Add a bag of M&M's.  Spread out on wax paper, pour sprinkles over it and let it hardened before breaking it up.  

It made plenty for these three bags and left me with lots to eat myself! 

4.  I am so excited because Chris and I recently found and booked our newborn photographer.  I get beyond excited when I think of all the adorable pictures she is going to take of our baby girl!  And I can't wait to use those pictures to send out baby announcements.  I love finding websites that have really simple and easy to edit cards like Signazon.  This is one of my favorite birth announcements.  

5.  Speaking of cards, I have been writing a few thank you notes already but have yet to have my main baby shower and know I will be writing a lot more! I found this cute baby shower card that I was able edit to say thank you.   I think it will be perfect for sending thank you notes after my shower!

We're having a baby!

 It's been a rough start, but I am SO excited to be able to share with you . . .

I feel more excited to share this news with you than some I've been able to tell in person, as the friendships, support, and encouragement I've made through this blog during our infertility struggle has honestly been a bigger blessing then I could have ever imagined.  

Thank you for your encouragement and prayers as I've shared my heart through disappointments, struggles and hope for this baby that we've prayed for daily these last two years.  

There are still many times that I feel nervous about the future and feel like this isn't real, but I am believing that I will get to hold our sweet baby in July.  

I've been doing a lot of praying, thinking, and continually working on giving things over to God as we had some scary complications during the first two months.  God is teaching me over and over that He is the only one that is in control.  We're daily praying for God's continued protection of our little baby that I feel like I've loved for WAY longer than the last 12 weeks.

Thank you again for your prayers.  They have been so comforting and are appreciated more than you know.
