Summer Steal

I was so excited when Chippmunk contacted me to help promote their site by finding an outfit that is perfect for summer, which to me means a comfy dress, and sandals.  Chippmunk is also having a contest where five readers can win $100 to the store of their choice, and one lucky winner will get $250! 
You know that I LOVE finding good deals and rarely buy things for full price.  Chippmunk is a site that lets you search and find tons of coupons for all different stores and deals.  You can search buy store, budget or category and you'll get a list of different coupons that you can use online.  

I found all of my pieces from ASOS and was able to save over $50 thanks to the coupons I found on Chippmunk.  They had tons of items for over 70% off, plus I found a coupon for an additional 20% off and free shipping!  I rarely buy things online because I'm always worried they won't fit, but love that ASOS has free shipping both ways in case you need to return something.

I was a runner

I've considered myself a runner for at least the last 8 years or so.  I have finished a few marathons, half marathons and other races.  But a week or so ago my confidence in my ability to still be a "runner" was a little shattered.  

I had every intention of being one of those pregnant woman that run up until they are due.  Well that quickly went out the window when I was on bed rest for a big chunk of the beginning of my pregnancy, then too scared to be running and then too late to start running while pregnant.  So I've stuck to walking. 

I was walking outside the other day and a bee flew in my hair.  Which I think will always make me run.  I ran probably 5 yards.  You would have thought I ran at least a mile.  Running with this belly was a complete change in my sense of gravity and I immediately felt like I was front heavy, carrying another person.  Oh wait I guess I am.  But a very very small person. 

I was out of breathe, hot, tired and then also slightly concerned.  

It's hard to imagine getting back into running shape and becoming a runner again. But I sure plan on working on it in the Fall.  

On a different note this may be my favorite maternity outfit so far.  I got this dress this Winter at Old Navy for less than $5.  It's not a maternity dress, just extra baggy! 

High Five for Friday

1. I realized that I have many pairs of colored tights but have not worn them nearly enough.  That needs to change!

3.  We watched the Survivor finale this week and Jeff Probst reminded us that there have been 12 years, 25 seasons of Survivor.  And I reminded myself that I have watched every single episode of those 25 seasons.  And while I should feel slightly embarrassed, I am instead proud.    

4. My sister and her family come in Saturday!  I am SO excited to spend time with my family. Maybe I can try again to get a picture of my niece and nephew together, as I failed miserably last year.

Husband's Disapproval

I put this vest on the other day and Chris' first response was "What is that?"

(cue disgusted tone)

"Ummm, a vest."

"You look like you're ready to lead a safari trip." 

I then proceeded to tell him that it was a military vest and was actually very trendy right now.

He didn't believe me.

So I told him I'd be able to look up military vest on pinterest and find hundreds of pictures of stylish ladies wearing a similar vest.

I then decided that probably wasn't worth it. 

I've actually had this vest for a long time and got it on clearance last year at Old Navy. 

I've yet to wear it in warmer weather but have seen so many cute outfits with it I am finally trying it. 

And despite Chris' disapproval I will continue to wear it.
