Waterpark weekend

Last weekend we went to a little town in Wisconsin about 45 minutes away and stayed at a hotel with an indoor water park.  Ever Fall for the last many years we've gone away for a weekend with our closest family friends, but did not get to do it this year.  So we figured a night away this Spring was needed!  I am a terrible traveler and struggle with "going with the flow" but really did have such a good time.  Minus not a lot of sleep that night which I expected, everything else was perfect. The kids had so much fun, especially Addi.  She never wanted to leave! 

 Isaac finally warmed up to the water near the end and was splashing and playing, but spent so much of the afternoon and evening there resting his end on my shoulder and just being content being held. I was happy to oblige!  It was not nearly as exhausting as I thought it would be, which I'm sure if we stayed longer he would've realized how much fun he could have!

Addi was so brave and did so well in the water.  We haven't swam since last summer so I wasn't sure how she'd do.  She had no fear and went down the slides over and over.  Even the huge one that I was nervous to go on!  She was excited and happy and adorable the whole time.  It was so fun to watch.

The next morning we walked around the town before the water park opened again.  Seven years ago I had done a marathon around the lake there, so it was fun to be back there the same weekend.  The kids loved walking around by the water and the weather was beautiful.

I feel like Addi is finally at the age where these trips and adventures feel worth it.  She'll remember it and was just so excited and happy to be there.  It makes me excited for lots more family trips ahead! 

FIVE

ONE.  I love the tassles on this dress.  It feels like a t-shirt and is super comfortable and I can't wait for warm weather so I can wear it.  We've had so much rain and dreary weather, I am ready for summer!

TWO.  Monday was Chris' birthday.  I feel like his birthday often gets lost in the midst of the business and other celebrations in May and I feel like I failed a little with his birthday this year. Thankfully our anniversary is this weekend so hopefully I can make up for it!  We had a fun birthday dinner at his parents on Friday!

THREE.  Speaking of birthdays, it was also this cute guy's birthday on Sunday.  My nephew turned 8 and I can hardly believe it.  I love him more than words can say and am just so thankful he lives here now and I get to celebrate his special days in person.  I love you Travis James!

FOUR.  This is going to sound like someone is paying me to say this but they are not.  The Walmart by us now has FREE grocery pick up.  You can shop online (for everything that is in the grocery store itself - produce, meat, bread, sandwhich bags, everything!) and they get it all together for you.  You pick a time slot and use the app to tell them you are on your way and they load your car with all your things when you get there.  I didn't even wait two minutes!  FOR FREE.  My mind is blown and I almost hugged the guy that loaded up my car.  And then I went to Starbucks to celebrate the easiest grocery shopping ever.  I will be doing this every week.  If you use this code you and I can both get $10 off our order!  Seriously such an amazing service!

FIVE.  We had family pictures last night.  Technically Isaac's one year pictures but we waited until it was nice outside.  Unfortunately it was still pretty cold and we did it at sunset, which is passed Isaac's bedtime so he was not his normal happy self and would not stay still.  I was a little disappointed, but I know our photographer is amazing so I am sure she got some good ones and I can not wait to see them.  (This dress is from Old Navy and I love it!) 

Summer staple

I got this dress last week and I love it.  It's comfy, the perfect length and super cute.  I think it looks good with dressier flats, sneakers, or I'm sure with wedges too.  This last weekend we went to an indoor water park and I wore it as a swimsuit coverup, which I am sure I will do again this summer!  It worked perfectly.  Last summer I hardly ever wore dresses because I was nursing Isaac so often.  While I'm still nursing him, it is so much less and rarely when we are out, so I'm looking forward to wearing dresses again, as they used to be all I wore in the summer.  I think it'd be adorable with a jean jacket or a vest too - so many options and it's only $10!!

Things I've Recently bought

I'm always a fan of online shopping, but most of the time the items stay in my cart until days later when I just close the tab and start over the next night.  But when Chris is out of town it's a little more dangerous, because I'm on my computer more at night, plus I feel like I've earned some rewards for solo parenting for days.  And it is only fair since he's getting all these fancy meals and I'm eating mac and cheese, with the occasional Jimmy Johns splurge.  
So I bought a few things last week and got them in the mail and thought I'd share.  The last year or so have ordered a few things from Aerie/American Eagle and love them.  They have such cute stuff, and often pretty cheap.  
This sweatshirt was $16 and I love it.  It's so comfy and cute and I think it'd look cute with shorts too in the summer.   I also bought this cute ruffle tee and like it, but need to see if I can exchange it for a different size. It's super soft and long enough to wear with leggings.  I got this bralette too.  I have two others from Aerie and love them and want to wear them all the time!  I'm still nursing Isaac quite often and they are really easy to move to the side to nurse.  Thankfully they are cheap enough, as I'm sure I'm stretching them out and will want a few new ones once I'm done nursing.  
These shoes are sold out now, but I got them in a light pink and they were only $15! I've wanted a pair like it for awhile and was super excited to find these! 

And these weren't while Chris was gone, but I found these sunglasses at Discovery for $4 and this hat from Walmart, also for $4.  And they both were worn a lot to cover greasy hair and tired eyes while he was gone.  Or always, because let's be honest, my eyes are often tired and my hair in need of a hat. I want to go back and get it in another color!

Overwears

I've been wanting a pair of overalls for quite awhile, but couldn't find a pair that was under $50 and I did not want to spend that much.  I found these online from TJMaxx for only $25 and when you sign up for their emails you get free shipping on your first order.  I actually found another pair too that I ordered but returned them because they didn't fit right.  These are really stretchy and comfy (a little too tight for my liking in the butt, but not enough to not keep them!).  I've had them for a few weeks, but have only worn them out once because I keep being nervous I look like I'm trying to dress like a three year old.  
Addi has a pair of overalls and I will definitely make sure to not wear mine the same day as hers, otherwise my fear would be true.  She calls them "overwears" and I have no intention of correcting her anytime soon.
